Email System Can Be Incredibly Sluggish
Ever since Onetel was acquired by TalkTalk the email system has periods of very iffy performance. Unfortunately, I have my onetel address registered with so many sites it is a major problem to abandon it. TalkTalk email is also unstable at times but not necessarily at the same time as the Onetel system. Maybe it is due to under investment in hardware to keep costs down. Maybe I should have stayed with Plusnet.
I agree. I have used the onetel e-mail address since old days of dial-up at 1p/minute with onetel, and do not wish to change it because so many people would have to be notified. I changed to TalkTalk PLUS (instead of Essentials) in the hope it would speed up the onetel e-mail service, but it still often takes minutes to open an e-mail (and sometimes just a second). Do they need a bigger server?

I Have Foolishly Put Off Moving Away From Onetel I
i have foolishly put off moving away from onetel inspite of the fact that 2mb is not really good enough for browsing the internet and the value of a discounted package when i realised i was paying way over the competition and asked them for better terms does not really compensate. talk talk will eventually migrate onetel customers to talk talk and offer better speeds and package deals but for reasons best known by themselves they are dragging it out. in the meantime you will have to weigh up whether changing provider against the inconvenience is worth it. broadband has moved on but onetel has not and talktalk the parent company are providing a lacklustre service with customers paying too much.

I Have Just Spent Over An Hour And A Half Listenin
I have just spent over an hour and a half listening to onetel telling me how my call is important to them, thanking me for my patience, and please to continue holding because an agent will be with me shortly - it's going on as I write this and its driving me mad.
I am switching from onetel because the customer service is non existent, and the broadband service is only marginally better; it drops offline regularly - sometimes for 2 or 3 hours. If you are thinking of switching to onetel (talktalk) please reconsider - they are rubbish!!

I Was Forced To Join Onetel When Telco Was Taken O
I was forced to join Onetel when Telco was taken over. It has been a disaster ever since. Regular breakdown in servcie, once for over a week. Customer Services is totally incompetent. For at least 18 months I have tried to get free online billing but despite notifying my new co.uk Eaddress they fix online billing and next month I get another bill costing £1.25 by mail because their Email "bounced". Fix it, get welcome letter then next month get a bounced letter, a regular routine. This company must employ minimal poor quality staff or is it just dreadful management? Onetel is part of TalkTalk which is owned by The Carphone Warehouse. Are they all so imcompetent?

I have been with onetel for many years.the service is atrocious, my router is dropping the connection 10 times a day.Technical service have failed miserably to correct the problem.I am changing shortly to o2 with a speed of up to 10meg for £7.50 a month, first 3 months free compared to onetel's 2 meg maximum.Roll on next week.Ronald

We Have Been Down On The E Mail And Internet For 2
We have been down on the e mail and internet for 2 days now and all the e mail replies, job interviews applications have been a nightmare (even the typing on this box are delayed by seconds)
I would have been sacked for such incompetitence and hope this complaint will advise clients to go to another provider.

The Mailzone Email Server Seems To Go Down Every F
The mailzone email server seems to go down every few months and then takes days to come back into operation. This time emails started taking two days to come at the end of last week Oct 30th 2008 and the server has been completely down the last three days. You can never get any information other than a person saying they are aware of the problem and seeking a speedy resolution. It is certainly the third time in the last 12 months this has happened. Totally pathetic.
Why can they not put out a proper staus report with an explanation as what the problem is and a proper time for resolution.

Highly Unreliable Especially The Mail Server In My
Highly unreliable especially the mail server in my opinion.I personally believe it to be very slow to respond sometimes. The BT digital demo page will arrive in seconds but the the onetel server is often much busier and slower.I pay for 2.5Mbps but experience 0.5 download and 0.25 upload, very frustrating service in my experience, probably better to pay more for decent reliability and speed for me anyway. I do not recommend One Tel.net.

I Took Out Broadband With Onetel About 3 Year Sago
I took out broadband with onetel about 3 year sago. To start with they were good but as soon as Talk Talk took them over the service has been deteriating for me. Like a fool I let them talk me into staying with them for another 12 months at a reduced rate, which is thankfully nearly over, but even this new price was soon more than I could get elsewhere.

In my experience, unhelpful service, Email service keeps breaking down on me and in my opinion they are so big that they do not seem to care.
I do not recommend One Tel.
