Untrustworthy And Incompetent

I purchased a "guaranteed" next day service. The package was delivered two days late. The 'tracking' feature was ridiculous. I lost money as a consequence of late delivery. The Post Office rejected my claim for compensation on the grounds that I did not read their T&Cs or purchase their 'consequential loss insurance' (which was not offered and I had never heard of!). It should be illegal for a company to describe a service as 'guaranteed' if it is not guaranteed (or insufficiently insured, as in my case). The Post Office and Royal Mail are essentially monopolies. They were better as state owned organisations. Hopeless customer service.

What A Waste Of Time.

What a waste of time! Don't let the cheap deals drag you in - they're cheap for a reason. No one has a clue what they're doing.

We applied online for broadband, told it would be a two week wait to activate. Fine. We then called to check everything had gone through - it had, team on the phone confirmed our engineer date.

Over the next few days, I kept getting emails saying that my application wasn't complete so I called again, only to be told it was fine and that we could expect the engineer in a few days.

Day of installation came - nothing. No engineer, no box, customer services saying that someone on the phone hadn't 'pressed the complete button' - absolute joke.

Called to complain - no apology, sales team tried to sell again and said they couldn't remove my direct debit details.

We were finally called back by the complaints team who apologised, cancelled our direct debit and closed our non-starter account. The fact that we had to call 7 or 8 times and be very persistent to get things done was an joke. Don't go with the Post Office for broadband - they haven't a clue what they're doing and from the other reviews I've read on here - it doesn't seem to be getting any better when and if you finally get installed. AVOID.

Absolutely Awful - Avoid At All Costs

I've had nothing but problems with PO broadband since day one.

I switched from BT to PO (due to my deal running out), but I wish I'd stayed with BT! Since changing I've had to contact their customer service department about 20 times due to not getting the advertised speeds. Their regular broadband was incredibly slow at my house (they didn't let me know this when I bought it), so we switched to fibre internet. This has been problematic since we got it, the speeds are all over the place, and my PS4 can't even get 50kbps through it. I had to open up the NAT ports on the router to let the PS4 traffic through, which worked once, but hasn't worked since. It's bonkers that a customer should have to fiddle around with settings like this on the old router that they send out. The only options on the router for games consoles are for the Wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3, all of which are about 10 years old plus.

I'd not recommend anybody to use them, avoid if possible.

Post Office Broadband Shocking Disgraceful Slow Service

The Post Office Broadband I went for the 18 month contract. I was with BT before getting speeds of just 2mb to 6mb. But soon as I switched to the post office my speed was 0.5mb 3/4 od the day and night. The only time it went to 2mb to 4mb when quiet times. I complained for 2 months the service was shocking. I could not even listen to music or watch films or go on skype. My ps3 playstation was freezing all the time online gaming. My email would never work the speed was that slow shocking disgraceful.

The post office admitted at first I had been put on a slower line due to the post office rent there paying for the local exchange. Then after this nothing but excuses and stories to try get around it all. The post office kept trying to make excuses like the phones or phone line. I recorded all speeds and times and threaten with legal ombudsman action within a few days they admitted they could not give me the service more stories. I am still going to report them after all this as the service I received was well below standards.

I left within 2 months of the 18 months no early fee due to there stories. I went to Plusnet last week. I get speeds of 13mb 90% of the time then other times 10% can be 11mb to 12mb.

The post office has a bad reputation for broadband I can clearly see why there service is shocking. I would avoid them at all chances and costs.

Dreadful Customer Services In Repairing Broadband Connection

BEWARE OF POST OFFICE PREMIUM BROADBAND - IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE PAID.

I have been without internet access for 1 month and their staff have not resolved this yet. I was promised a router which didn't get sent, then promised line tests and call backs which didn't happen (twice), then engineers visits which were not organised (twice). This company and their staff are a complete joke and couldn't care less about customer service. I tried to make a complaint but the "manager" said he would take my comments on board but he wouldn't respond to the complaint. I have never heard of this before that a company does not report back and apologise when a complaint has been made. ONLY AT THE POST OFFICE!

Really guys, go elsewhere for your broadband. They may be at the lower cost end of the list of suppliers but the dreadful broadband speed will drive you nuts and is not worth it. Trying to get their staff to do anything about this or the total loss of connection in my case has been impossible. I have had to resort to writing to the CEO but I'm not expecting much.

p.s. I would have given a "0" if I had the chance as giving the PO "1" is too high a score!

One Of The Best !

There are far too many bad reviews of the post office , so I felt compelled to give a bit of balance.

I have been with the post office since 2009 and could not fault their performance or service. Two months ago I updated to fibre broadband . The change-over was 1st class and I am getting 39mbs with no drop-outs. The price is as competitive as the competition . I would definitely recommend this provider .

Post Office Broadband ,biggest Mistake Ever!

I have had 2 other broadband contracts before ,TalkTalk and PlusNet without any complaints about anything ! Since joining Post Office Broadband I never know if I am going to be able to use the internet or smart TV as most of the time there is a very weak signal or no signal at all. I get cut off very frequently and have complained so many times. The only good thing is that you get through fairly easily but its always the same story "Oh , yes I can see that you have been cut off frequently, have you tried this or that ! Yes , Yes , Yes done that! The last one was "We will send an engineer out to you but it could cost YOU! a lot of money depending on what he finds.

You only have read other reviews to get the picture, I wish I had read them before I signed an 18 month contract. I thought the Post Office communication systems would be the best and not the worst ever provider of broadband. Just occasionally at weekends and at certain times of day I have enough service to watch a movie without it locking up. Line faults don't know about weekends so to suggest it may be caused a fault at my end is crazy. Don't be tempted by what seems to be a good price for Post Office Broadband and calls (No complaints about the telephone service.) Even if Its if its a bit more expensive read the reviews and go for a different supplier. I can't wait for my contract to end , in fact I may eventually end up joining up with another supplier and having to pay two contracts at the same time ! THATS how bad it is !

I have changed my address and wish to cancel my contract. How do I do this?

bedfordlad

How do I get my ÂŁ99.22 back, that I paid on the 4th February? I have had to pay again on the 17th with credit card, or they would disconnect my phone, in a nut shell I have paid a bill twice, I can not speak to any one in accounts. Can someone help?

You could write to Raw Deal in the Sunday Post - they are magic at getting results. I found the Post Office horrendous to deal with, incompetent bullies with a rotten service, and am so glad I got away from them. I would suggest you might change asap. I'm with PlusNet now and in well over a year, not a hint of a problem. Good Luck.
