Do Not Sign Up With Daligas

Daligas is totally incompentent, we decided that we did not want gas any longer and asked them to remove the meter, they wanted £170 + Vat to remove it they do not list any removal charges anywhere, to stop the meter removal they insist on all pipes being removed even though they did not install the pipes and they connect to others so cannot be removed, the ombudsman agrees that they dont need to remove them but Daligas refuses to remove the meter even after I agreed to pay for it out of the balance, but you have gussed it after a year its still not removed and they keep sending bills again even after the Ombudsman has stated they do not need to collect money from us, then they sent a final bill which was inflated and end of Daligas only to find in September they send a welcolm letter and opened a dd with our bank and took money, the bank refunded it. Its now back with the ombudsman

Be Aware When You Sign Up If You Still Want To! A

Be aware when you sign up if you still want to!

At the end of your contract they do NOT inform you it is running out, that it will be renewed automatically and with the charges of nearly 100% more than you had agreed.

Their monthly invoices do NOT include rate you pay and in fact tell you that you are on a contract, whereas you have not signed a new one, especially with such prices.

They send you a VERY general e-mail shortly before renewal and nowhere in that e-mail is the information that your contract is running out and that it will be renewed and on what terms (there are only general links to their "rates").

I have complained but when eventually heard back got a very brief reply telling me I could have contacted them because it is "easy to do so" - what a drivel!

I have used in the past plenty of various energy suppliers for both personal and business use and have NEVER experienced this!

I am more than sure that they have purposefully constructed their "renewal" terms, so that unless you first contact them they will bounce you up on higher charges on a new contract automatically. That is why none of their monthly invoices include information on what actual charge you pay - there is only the predicted amount, which does not tell you much. Their budget plan also does not include rates but only estimated monthly figures.

The e-mail Daligas is now referring me to only "kindly" asks for a meter reading and says in a subject "[Reminder] Period Meter Read", while inside of the e-mail the only information relating to contract is "For information on our current and renewal tariffs, please visit our website at" - so how on earth the average consumer knows that his contract is in fact running out (since plenty of energy businesses offer two or more year contracts!).

I will be referring them to Ombudsman as soon as possible.

Cannot Wait To Leave After Tied In For So Long

Been with Daligas for just under 5 years now, can’t wait to leave.

Would have given them 0 stars if possible. First 2 years they were the cheapest and paid only around £35 per month next year it went up to £48, the following year was told A underpayment for 2 years and they tried taking over £700 from my account. After questioning them of this and asking how did they not realise for so long, wanted to leave but didn’t have the funds to pay the total amount. Agreed on a 12 month instalment of £60 per month, but they also increased my month bill to now £128. So was paying £128 + 60 =£190 per month.

Last week received an email when questioned it, the advisor couldn’t answer the question and saying things like ‘He thinks’ this and that, wanted actual answers not what it might be to which he hang up the phone.

After receiving this sort of service from the advisor, had a complaint to make. Called and spoke to the manager and putting my case through and telling them to listen to the phone conversation, but instead of any sympathy was told the advisor is one of the best Customer service agent and must have been abusive. Told them to listen to the phone conversation.

It’s shocking how this was all turned into the customers fault or problem, the lack of customer service provided and now accused instead of investigating the matter. Will leave next month once the final payment is made.

At such hard times if they provide bad customer service they will not retain many customers and good luck with generating new ones.

Terrible Service

I spoke to someone on Wednesday and gave a meter reading to update my account as they had over estimated my last bill. The girl.point blank refused to take the read saying it wasn't in line with the estimate but was in line with the previous 4 reads. I was furious as its an obvious ploy to keep your money as the read would have resulted in a credit on my account. I asked for a call back to resolve my complaint and was assured I would have one by friday. As I'm still waiting I can only assume they didn't mean last friday. Keep away terrible

Change For The Worse

We were 100% satisfied Daligas customers until December, when our regular payment - which had always been the same every month - was increased by over £20 without prior notification. When we queried it, we were told that they have a new policy, and that a different sum will be taken every month instead of an equal amount averaged across a year's use. This makes it far more difficult to plan the budget, and the company is not interested in reinstating the system that was so convenient for its customers.

Alright Until You Want To Leave

In my year with them I never had a proper bill, only a monthly statement based on my Direct Debit. When I left getting a final bill was like getting blood from a stone. And I am far from the only person in this position. The customer service people will offer every excuse in the book as to why they have not issued a final bill/refunded credit balance but it is all hogwash.

Do yourself a favour and steer well clear!

Wait until you've been with them for over a year.

No annual statement. No refund of overpaid monies. No communication from them.

Have my doubts if they are genuine

Low Cost, No-nonsense Service

I have switched to Daligas from British Gas (standard tariff) and am now saving £20 per month. It was not possible to switch on-line -- it was necessary to download a form and post it -- but the transfer took place quickly and without a problem.

Hello; can aynone say which bank Daligas is currently using for the direct debit? I can’t find this on the website...

Peter_Wilson

Daligas website seems to be down and I can't give them a reading. Are others having the same problem?

Peter_Wilson

Back on - it went missing for a number of hours - frustrating when I wanted to enter gas reading!

cattycare

My father has been trying to swap to Daligas since November 2013. Despite endless phone calls and emails the switch still has not happened. Why is this?

cattycare

Daligas have been very elusive. Although since posting my question a DD form was emailed to him. His 3rd from daligas!

We also had problem with British Gas as they had my father's MPRN number down for 3 different addresses!

My father is 88 these 7 months of phone calls have really worn him down. It would have been nice if Daligas had actually done something instead of leaving all the chasing to us
