Aeg Competence U3100-5 Double Oven (5 Years On)

This is actually a really good oven in terms of its cooking ability, which we have had for approx. 5 years, HOWEVER the bad bit is that during that 5 year period it has had 6 new bottom oven elements and on each occasion you have to replace the distribution fan so the total cost per year is around £70 - £80 + labour, so in effect I have re-purchased the oven just in repairs alone.

Not sure about the name 'COMPETENCE' maybe should be INCOMPETENCE ..

I am about to re-order the element once again but next time this oven will be on its way to the TIP ...

Main Oven Has Completely Failed After Only 3 Years

main oven has completely failed after only 3 years of light use(not good enough) Would not buy AEG again. My last oven, a Zanussi lasted 14 years and only replaced because we were replacing kitchen. Would not recommend to anyone.

Aeg Competence 3210bu Top Oven Slow To Heat. Cooks

AEG Competence 3210BU top oven slow to heat. Cooks well and easy to use. Components are weak. Door did not fit properly at first and fan made a terrible clanking sound, both subsequently fixed. Grill element, fan oven element have both failed and had to be replaced.

Our Competence 3210bu Was Bought To Replace A Buil

Our Competence 3210BU was bought to replace a built-in Ariston unit installed by property developers - whilst expensive at the time, the size, control and flexibility of cooking is excellent.

Bottom oven required new element afer 7 years of hard, daily use - spares are easy to source, not too expensive and easy to install with a bit of common sense!

Top oven & grill are larger than the single oven the unit replaced

Bottom oven excellent size - quick to come to temperature

Fiddly to change oven bulbs (need to remove self-cleaning panels)

Top oven slow to heat

Looks Good, Fantastic Superfast And Controlable Gr

Looks good, fantastic superfast and controlable grill. Fan oven temperature control is faulty on ours it has been replaced twice but it is still very erratic. We bought this oven expecting the best but we are disappointed.

Aeg Competence 3210bu - Main Oven Broke Completely

AEG Competence 3210BU - Main oven broke completely within 4 years

Door broke, hinge came unglued from glass door. Happened to my neighbour's exact same oven also.

Have to dismantle door completely to clean the glass.
