Only Just Died After 8+ Years.

I have no idea how old our microwave was when we acquired it with the house in 2014, but we have been using the microwave function for eight years and it has only stopped working this week: light and motor are fine, but no heating action.

It has only fairly coarse divisions of time, so it would have been more annoying when the kids were tiny (heating baby milk needs time control measured in seconds, not ten second intervals), but for ordinary family use, defrosting, reheating, making hot drinks etc., it did just fine. It's quite compact too.

I can't comment on the grill function as we never used it.

Not So Bad

Well, I own this microwave for a 3 years. I only heat on max level of power and its quite powerfull. Until now when the bulb failed Im going to search somewhere how to remove, but elsewhere I would recoment it. For this price is a sufficient piece of Microwave.. :)

Brand New Out Of The Box, Result.... Cold Food

It bought this microwave today, bank holiday Sunday. I have two small kids so depend on a microwave to heat milk etc. Sadly enough we gathered around the new microwave as my wife wanted to quickly reheat her lunch, we commented on how fast the food went around in circles, but after two minutes the food was cold. It appears the microwave wasn't working, it failed at it sole purpose in life.... Rubbish. Tesco, please source quality products, stop buying rubbish from China, (I stop writing the email to check if it was from China before I accuse.....it's from China) I thought I bought a microwave, instead I purchased a silver box that makes my food go around in circles at high speed and beeps when done, result, cold food, failed product, fed up wife and angry husband.

I now have to get in my car on a Bank holiday Monday, go to Tesco, carry the microwave into the back of the shop and get another one.... Poor show Tesco, stop buying rubbish and selling it to unwitting people like me.

The Internal Bulb Access

I bought one of the above microwave ovens and after about six months the bulb failed.

On reviewing the manual I found it did not show how to replace it so now I microwave/grill in the dark.

Also quite early on it developed a leak into the space in the door such that it exhibited a diagonal band of condensation. Now while this gives it a little character it is not the character I want! One wonders if the quality control of the radiation is of the same level. I have not noticed any rise in temperature when near it while it is operating but maybe it will in the future when the door falls off.

I bought one of this microwave and the bulb failed in 2 months, no instructions to replace the bulb. Poor quality.

Tesco Mg208 Microwave With Grill

I have had the oven less than 2 years and the interior white lining and the base has come detached if it is pressed with a cloth to clean it cracks. I can't see me being able to use it for much longer. No more Tesco microwaves for me.

After A Few Months The "metal" Strip Below The Doo

After a few months the "metal" strip below the door started to peel off. Tesco advised to use superglue to stick back on, this appeared to work although it started to come away further along the strip at a later date.

Six weeks after the 1 year guarantee expired the oven stopped heating. It still rotates and makes the noise, grill still works so it looks like the megatron has gone faulty.Unable to find repair agent in the area but due to the cost will have to purchase a new microwave oven.

Had The Microwave For 18 Months And Found It Suffi

had the microwave for 18 months and found it sufficient for my needs. However i never used the low power defrost function until today. I set the power ratio to 20% to defrost a slice of almost defrosted bread for 10 seconds and i think it worked. next time i came to use it on normal power it would not work. I believe the thermal fuse has fused. There is no repair agent in my area therefore no option but to buy a new machine but it wont be a tesco model.

Appalling Customer Service From Tesco Regarding Th

Appalling customer service from Tesco regarding the delivery means that I had to cancel my order. I was to receive my order on a Monday between 7am and 7pm and it never came; they never got in touch with me. I had to call them on their expensive 0845 number at the end of the day to find out. I was told the driver could not find my house so I gave specific instructions for the next day delivery attempt. The next day, delivery between 7am and 7pm as promised never occurred and once again Tesco never called me. This time I didn't bother calling them, just wrote them an email to cancel my order and then went to Asda website to buy one. The irony is that microwaves from both Asda and Tesco turned up on Thursday that week 5 minutes apart. Asda stayed, Tesco got kicked out.
