Brought this oven 18 months ago,the first we knew about oven fault was the breakers in fuse box kept tripping, phoned Argos and was told to get an electrical engineers report and he wanted £68.00 tow thirds of cost of new oven.I opened the back of oven myself and found scorch marks covering the whole area around were elermentis fitted around top of fan.I phoned argue gain and they were very quick to fob me off as they said I was not an electrcian,I told them we could not afford one but they just kept reading out company policy ,I have learnt my lesson to never buy bush rubbish at Argos again, thanks a lot.I wish I had been a bit more savvy about Argos and bush products

Bush Electric Single Oven Model Ae6bfs
I bought this oven which was fitted during a kitchen upgrade, since it's installation it has proved to be one of the worst things that I have ever bought.
I bought it through the company ARGOS who in turn supplied it via the company HOMEBASE which is also run by the 'Home Retail Group plc'
The oven does not get very hot even though I am told that it is fully working (all elements)the fan does nothing more than circulate the heat it is not strictly a fan oven in the true sense of the description.
Not long after having the oven installed quite a lot of the stove enamel began to come off at the bottom of the oven in three places so I rang ARGOS and asked for a replacement but they refused point blank. They said "It is not in the manufacturers policy to replace the oven only to repair it".
Reluctantly I agreed to have it repaired and some time later the fitters brought the oven liner but when they unpacked it from its protective packaging it was found also to be damaged as the one I have had the missfortune to purchase, damaged in five places but in different places to the one I bought.
I complained about the part also being damaged I still am told that I will only get a repair not a replacement.
The real problem here is that when this oven is repaired it may well eventually still develope the same fault that is being repaired due to a poor design fault.(I believe)
There are two lugs that hold the housing in position at the bottom of the liner and this is exactly where the damage shows up.
Try pointing out to Argos that the guarantee can be up to 6 years in England and 5 years in Scotland.
Ask them have they ever heard of the words 'Statuory guarantee' because that is as said up to 6 years.
A manufacturers guarantee does not overide the statuory one, all that actually does is tell the buyer that the manufacturer has faith in their product and that it will be exchanged without quible but on;y within the period of one year.
Did you buy your over on line, if you did you can also use the 'Distance Selling regulations'.
I am not particularly impressed I admit with the Bush oven but it was a replacement for a previously installed unamed one, they had attempted a repair on that without success.
Even so Argos did not replace mine without a fight either, I had to stand by my guns and tell them to ******* off and go away because they also wanted to remove my hob unit saying that it was bought as a package deal with the original cooker.
I said that I am not qualified to unship it from the gas connection so that they would have to pay to have that done, I wonder why.
Do not buy this product. I was sent a replacement oven as the 1st one packed in after 3 mts. 13 mts later, same thing happened and argos are refusing to replace it as it is over a year old. Total waste of money.
Q&A
Do you just plug this oven in or does it need to be fitted by an electrician?
Thanks
