Very fustrated with the Neff 1442, I have had the same bulb fail inside the oven twice, the first under guarantee was replaced by the engineer who smashed the lens and replaced both the bulb and lens. Now the cooker is out of the guarantee the bulb has failed again and I cannot removed the lens. The only offer is a £80 call out charge plus replacement costs which is just not good enough for a company such as Neff. In my opinion this is a design fault with the Neff 1442

Having Purchased Two Single Neff Ovens (neff B1442
Having purchased two single Neff ovens (Neff B1442) last December, one of the ovens internal light has already expired. I have been unable to remove the bulb cover and despite heating the oven up at 100 degrees and dabbing the area with vinegar which, might I add, because of the positioning of this cap is not an easy task, still it will not shift (incidentally this is also the case with the other oven). I have been told that if Neff will send out an engineer, but if it is found to be grease I will be liable to a call out charge of about £72. I would like to hear of any other comments on this 'fault'. As the top of the cap is above the oven ceiling, it is very difficult to get a brush or anything else soaked in vinegar up there.
I took the advice of numerous Seimens oven owners who also struggled to remove the glass bulb cover. I used a small piece of wood (a stick of kindling actually) and placed on the left side notch on the glass cover (to turn anti-clockwise) and tapped the end with a hammer. The glass co er moved slightly each time and I kept trying to move it with rubber gloves on. It eventually came of and is like a screw glass top. Goodness knows why they put it on so tight in the first place as I have repla ed mine so I can hand loosen next time.
I too have one of these ovens. The internal light failed just after the warranty expired. Attempts to remove the cover have come to nothing. Seeking assistance from Neff has not proved productive to date. I will try again armed with the info from the foregoing reviewer.
Many thanks.
I had the same issue when trying to replace the bulb.Having tried and failed to remove it using my hands or something to give extra grip (some elastic bands tied round the lamp cover for example) I called Neff Customer Services. As the oven is outside of the warranty period, they could offer an engineer's visit (chargeable). When pushed, they offered to send me out a tool free of charge which arrived 2 days later and has done the trick. The reference number for the tool is 613634.
I've got exactly the same problem with this model of oven... I just can't remove the bulb cover. It's designed too close to the corner that you just can't grip around it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In no particular order of importance -
The Neff B1442 is quiet. When the fan-assist was on for the first time, I had to look and see if the fan blades were spinning.
The glass window is much larger and you can see the interior of the whole oven. Also, the brighter watt lamp helps you easily see what is cooking inside.
It does such a good job of holding in heat, Neff suggests on longer cooking times you can turn the oven off 10 minutes or so early.
The controls are clearly marked - the door opens smoothly and seats firmly.
