Monarch Water Softener

Bought this to replace a tapworks ad11 which had worked excellently for over 20 years but needed replacing. I bought this because it stated that it could do the job and to back it up gave a long guarantee and was English,big mistake it did not soften the water to the level of the tapworks and when They sent out a technician he started by adding two drops of reagent before he even started to test the water, then it took a further 6 drops of reagent and he thought that indicated that the water had been softened.I called them out again and they stated that as there was only two of us in the house the softener needed to regenerate more often, every third day, I thought the softener was supposed to be proportional. It still does not do the job as intended, five drops to go blue,Having wasted over £400 I shall scrap it and go back to an AD11, which I should have done in the first place.

About a month or so before Christmas I had a water powered Monarch Solo fitted. Within a couple of weeks it became apparent that there was a fault with the softener. I phoned my Monarch supplier there was no quibbling, within a day and a half their fitter was at my house he said "Yes there is a problem". there was no discussion about replacing bits,2 days later a new softener was delivered the day after that the replacement softener was fitted. I am more than pleased with my "Solo" because my old softener used to take 56lbs of salt a month, this machine uses a fraction of that. The supplier and the machine have excelled themselves. The device itself is obviously a quality product, you don't get a seven year parts guarantee for something that isn't, but it is the customer care as well that raises this company to a five star level. Speaking to real people who know what you want and are trained to respond in a friendly, professional manner. No hard sell salespeople and a price that makes this a very good investment. I now look forward to keeping the central heating boiler, the washing machine and the shower etc. for many years into the future.
