Has Amongst The Highest Capacity
This device, being designed for larger homes, has amongst the highest capacity of any dehumidifier manufactured by Ebac. Visually the design is stylish and "tidy" without the customary air-grill on the front panel.

Shoddy Quality
I bought my Ebac 6200 two years ago. When it works it’s very efficient, drawing lots of moisture from the air ........ however ...... It’s been back three times under warranty.
First return due to excessive noise and peeling of the fake wood veneer.
Second time, same as first.
Third time same as first and second with the addition of the unit leaking on the floor and not transferring water from the internal reservoir to the top where it is emptied when full.
Each time the process for return/repair was straight forward, with Ebac arranging courier collection (made much easier because I had the foresight to keep the delivery packaging). The company never told me what had been done to the machine but I suspect the first machine was replaced with a new one. Subsequent returns were clearly repairs ... but not very successful ones in the long term.
I wouldn’t buy from Ebac again as I feel their quality control is very poor for machines that are at the premium end of the scale in terms of price.

Disapointed
I got mine about 5 years ago ,it's always been noisy but didn't know any better until , I got another make at 3rd the cost & it's better in every way by a mile . I took the ebac panel off to see if I could service/clean it & there are actually bits missing that stopped the compressor from vibrating . So I've supplied a seconds at the cost of a new one . I always try to buy British & they have let the side down :(

Ebac 6200 - Not Fit For Purpose
I bought an EBAC 6200 because I thought it was going to deliver a powerful performance.
I have been using dehumidifiers for years.
The first EBAC 6200 delivered did not work.
I had it replaced in a couple of weeks.
The second one worked for a week; it was incredibly noisy; it then stopped. I switched it off, waited as instructed then moved it to check it on a workbench. It leaked about half a pint of water. The internal reservoir leaked all over the internal electrics and seemed to affect the controls.
I can't express enough that this product is clearly not fit for purpose.
I have not bothered to send it back, its a waste of my time. I bought a competitor product for half the price and it works safely quietly and efficiently.
This is sadly a proper reflection of the facts: I have no connection with any of the competition.

Noise
This is our fourth EBAC dehumidifier and it does the job but it is so noisy I find it hard to believe that a company so experienced as EBAC would provide a unit for household use as the 6200. I have a heavy duty EBAC dehumidifier in my garage that is quieter than this model. I find it quite amazing that a company as experienced as Ebac in this field would allow this unit to be sold in its present state. I suggest that the problem of noise is caused by the cheap plastic bodywork of the unit.
A most disappointed user of an Ebac Dehumidifier.

Ebac 6200 Blonde Oak - England
Ebac's service is fantastic, the product looks great and when it is working it does a wonderful job. (Our apartment is the only apartment in our building and the apartment buildings next door to have condensation-free windows, and before we got it our mold/mildew problems were overwhelming.) With the Smart Control we save money on our electricity bill too. It keeps our apartment at 48-55% relative humidity on most days (60-70% for about half a day to a day when hanging up laundry indoors). (Without a carpet I believe it will be lower.)
The only thing I do not love about the Ebac 6200 is that I have had to send it back for repairs so often (this will be my 6th time since September last year)! Thankfully I have a 5 year warranty (given by Ebac for free on purchase), so all collections, deliveries, and repairs are done for free. They do, however, cost time - as they take one week for repairs (no matter what sort of repair must be done). I have had a new model three times so far due to replacements. That said, Ebac customer services is great and they are very helpful. Though this model seems very faulty, I have not lost my respect for the company.
48-55% relative humidity at 20 degrees C *

Pathetic In Every Way
I was stupid enough to buy a second 6200 unit a short time after buying the first, impressed by its good looks and apparent effectiveness. Little did I know that both would only work without faults for less than 6 months. Both have been sent back at least 5 times for repair since 2011, for a variety of faults- from failing to extract any water, to icing up, to making bizarre noises, to chemical fumes, and now leaking water from underneath all over a brand new cream carpet. Customer services have been, frankly, pathetic- despite notifying them of a change of address several times, both trying to collect and deliver units to the wrong address. Or failing to even attempt delivery on a date agreed a month before. Countless days off work wasted waiting for couriers. Units so noisy that the irritation they cause means I can only leave running when out of the house. Had these reviews been available when I initially purchased, I'd have steered well clear. Unfortunately I was sucked in by the 5 year warranty, apparent good design, and good reviews for previous models. £700 and a lot of annoyance wasted, I will never buy anything from Ebac again
We have had the same problems. Machine is really noisy and has leaked numerous times really badly. On more than one occasion, we had to replace underlay which had become sodden. The 6000 series was a replacement for another faulty Ebac. The original one resulted in an insurance claim for a ruined carpet and underlay as we didn't notice it had been overflowing for a couple of days. Ebac do keep replacing the machines, but they all appear to malfunction after a few months.

Utter Rubbish
Have got a ebac 6200. First one went back 3 times. Replacement has just gone back. Very very noisy, blows out cold air and takes next to nothing as regards moisture. Complete waste of money as does not do its job and I'm about to ask for my money back. Every time the unit has gone back I have had to ring up to find out what was done as no note put in with the returned unit.DO NOT BUY THIS!

Terribly Dissapointed With Quality And Customer Service
A year on from placing my order, I'm beginning to wish I had trusted my instincts! I wanted an energy efficient and reliable dehumidifier for when I dry my washing inside, predominantly over the winter months. Following a Which magazine recommendation, I purchased an Ebac Powerpac 21 from the manufacturers website.
It arrived and had a loud grinding noise, shortly before it failed to pump the water to the reservoir and dropped it all over the floor. Sending it back proved difficult also with a less than helpful person at the end of their customer service team. I ended up driving it more than 30 miles to the nearest depot on a Friday afternoon because they were unable to pick it up on a weekend and at the time I worked in a secure site.
All going swimmingly until 3 months later I found my carpet was sodden and while not making the same noises, it was only pumping half the water into the reservoir. This time, in a new job, they collected from my office an returned it 7 days later. All fine, same unit repaired.
7 months later, the same problem again. This time, has stained my brand new carpet and while they have invited me to submit photos to make a claim (which I will do), I called customer services to discuss a refund - this being the 3rd fault in less than a year.
Had I read these reviews before I made my purchase, I would have opted for a different brand. While I appreciate sometimes faults occur, it would appear they have either a massive quality issue with their manufacturing process, or the design is floored. I suggest the former, given the number of models which seem to report the same issues. It is a real shame given when it works, it has worked really well.
I suggest, steer well clear unless you are patient, don't mind dealing with customer service staff who at least portray having a less than helpful attitude should you wish to discuss something off their standard script (to be fair I have some sympathy given the volume of calls from unhappy customers they appear to be dealing with).
