The Iron Looks Good And Is Comfortable To Use, And

The iron looks good and is comfortable to use, and initially the steam function was great. But, the supposed anti-scale componet just doesnt work, and worse still the iron leaks.

Over the time we have had the iron the leaks have got worse and seem to be all over the water tank based on the limescale on the outside. Because of the ant-drip function, descaling is not easy and Bosch just don't want to know.

I can't recommend this and feel it's poor value for money

Says it is self de-scaling. It isn't. There's a build of scale in the steam plate holes and you get this all over your clothes as you iron. Tried de-scaling it (like my old, now unavailable iron) but I just made it worse as the water does not seep throgh the iron as I was expecting.

Other than this it is an OK ish iron but really not worth the money.

While This Iron Continues To Function, It Works Ve

While this iron continues to function, it works very well and does a good job. However, this particular model suffers from overheating problems, if it has not had the benefit of the replacement reduced power soleplate kit. This kit takes the original rating of 2600W down to 2300W, which should alleviate the overheating problems. I would not recommend buying an unmodified version of this iron. Lastly, as one of its key claims to fame is its high power rating, I cannot help but wonder what merits the modified iron (reduced power) has left to claim.

I would have expected more from Bosch equipment, I beleived the brand was always synomonous with quality. Thanks for your comments.

I found this review very helpful because.... Since purchasing the Bosch Sensixx comfort 2600W max,the thermal fuse has blown twice, plus have had to have a replacement thermostat, which had caused the iron to over heat and unfortunately scorched a good shirt.

Now the thermal fuse as blown for the third time, but Bosch will not sell the part, instead you have to buy a package, The thermostat (temperature regulator) and Thermal fuse and a reduced power (2300W) sole plate.
