Invested In This Hotpoint Tdc62 Condenser Drier Du

Invested in this Hotpoint TDC62 condenser drier due to the Hotpoint reputation. Big mistake, have had nothing but probs ever since. Thermostat blowing numerous times, engineer did state this was due 2 opening the drier during cycle. Have since stopped doing this and thermostst has been fine. The problem I am now encountering is the drier does,nt dry.(rather pointless really!) Am using the dryer on High heat setting for half a washer load for 120 mins, and still wet. Absolute nightmare.

Thank goodness! I thought it was just me being stupid. I had three towels in for three hours today and still not dry. What a heap of junk!

Had My Machine About 5 Years Now, And Have Replace

Had my machine about 5 years now, and have replaced the thermostat 6 times in that time - for the first 4 years i paid insurance on this machine - - insurance expired October 2007, the thermostat has blown again - so i searched for help on line, and was recommended to buy the thermostat for £16 (available various sites on line) - ordered part arrived within 2 days, very simple to fit (if i can do anyone can!) - problem sorted! Not ideal i know, but at least it can be repaired relatively cheaply! When it was insured, the engineer said the thermostat goes because its either overloaded, not de-fluffed enough or opened too many times whilst drying (ie, goes from hot to cold too quickly and upsets the thermostat) - i have been recommended to let the cycle finish before opening - also one engineer recommended instead of using the sensor drying cycle use the minutes cycle - apparently (he reckons) its a lot cheaper with electricity!!!! Must admit each time mine has gone wrong its because i've not defluffed it property, or i used to open it whilst in drying mode!

We Bought The Hotpoint Tdc62 Tumble Dryer Because

We bought the Hotpoint TDC62 tumble dryer because we thought it was a reliable brand. Just over 12 months after purchasing it the tumble dryer stopped producing heat, it seemed to be functioning ok but just wasn't getting warm or drying the clothes. I was amazed when searching the internet to find loads of people having the same problem. I have contacted Hotpoint and they just want to charge you for repairing the item, and they are quite happy to continue selling this item.

Reliable & Easy To Use. Found That Ensuring Go

Reliable & easy to use. Found that ensuring good ventilation at the back has stopped the thermostats blowing so it is best suited to a cool utility room rather than a warm kitchen.

This Hotpoint Tdc62 Is The Worst Dryer I Have Had.

This Hotpoint TDC62 is the worst dryer I have had. When it is working, it will not sensor-dry the clothes until they are dry enough to put away. In the manual, it says that this is because you should never put them away totally dry but I can't put my toddlers clothes away that damp! It has now broken for the second time. I am assuming that the thermostat has broken again.

My friends tumble dryer is not drying the laundry, could this be a thermostat or heating element problem or both? It is a Hotpoint TDC62.
