Horrible Reaction

I’ve used this brand off and on for a year. I couldn’t figure out what was causing my severe allergic reaction - swollen, itchy, flaky, burning eyes that are secreting a goop like substance. This occurred on multiple occasions and I desperately tried to determine the cause. Originally I thought seasonal allergies (never had them before). I went to the eye dr - they said allergy. I took a daily allergy med with varying results. Then I thought my contacts so I stopped wearing them and switched to glasses. Then I concluded it was either the makeup remover or makeup. Stopped using the remover first. Finally I determined it was the eyeliner. Evidentially LOreal uses Caratine - a beetle that many people are allergic to, in its products. I’m now switching to a vegan eyeliner and am so thankful I will no longer experience the awful reaction I had to this product!

I've had the EXACT same problem. Had ongoing swollen red eyes with discharge for weeks. Was put on steroid and antibiotic drops which cleared it up. Bought new Loreal eyeliner in a different colour (threw the old one out) 3 times after using the new eyeliner had severe reactions the next day

renataparker

I used their Le Liner Eyeliner 2 colours Same reaction Never again I am on antihistamines Trying to get rid of allergic reaction/ stye on my eye.

Ouch !!@

I used this product for years! They apparently changed something because now my eyes have a reaction to it. Red, swollen, cracking, painful eyelids.

Sad

I ran out of this eyeliner the other day. Bought more and half way through the day my eyes began to itch. Had to take it off. My eyes remained swollen and sore the next day. Did they change the formula. I love this product and am sad i can no longer use it.

Absolutely agree! I've never had a problem with ANY product before and I changed my facial cream, shampoo and other products I've used for years to try and figure out what was causing these horrible symptoms and I applied this product again and BAM! I'm in pain again :( Hate it- today it's evilness has been put in the bin.

Don't Buy Product!!!

I have wore loreals liquid eye liner for about 10 years and loved it! I don't know if they changed ingredients or what? When I use the eye liner my eye close, they hurt, itch, and my lashes feel like they are going to fall out!!! This will last at least four days after you use the liner. What the heck is in this product straight up bacteria! This started happening a year ago or, and of course I threw it away and bought some more. I thought I just got one that was old so I bought another and it did the same thing! A year has went past, and Imy husband forgot that I didn't wear loreal liquid eyeliner anymore and bought it for me. I thought surely they have fixed ithis problem by now!!! I have swollen hurting eyes as we speak! Please do not buy this product!!! Please do not buy this product!!!!

Do Not Buy! It Burns!

I wanted to love this liner, I really did. The Super Liner Perfect Slim applies beautifully. Very thin, clean lines. The color is not as black as it could be, though. And it transfers to my lids (I even tried it with eyeshadow on top). But my biggest problem was the reaction on my skin.

I was about to chuck out my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, thinking that the sodium saccharine in it was the cause for the itchiness and burning sensation around the corner of my eyes and my crease. This and the liner were the only new makeup items I'd used plus I'm allergic to sulfas, after all, and as I've recently learned, the ss is a family member of the sulfas... Even if this particular ingredient never caused me problems in my toothpaste, for example. (I've since tried them again, and felt no discomfort). I thought for sure this little liner couldn't be it.

But then I tried the liner again with a different set of eyeshadows that I've used for years. I had to wash my face within a couple of hours. It was the same reaction all over again. It seriously burns and itches, its thoroughly painful. I had little painful bumps on my outer corners, a mild leftover itch on the crease where the liner transferred, a dark line where I lined my eyes (even after makeup remover + cleanser), and watering eyes; which is small compared to what others have experienced, now that I've seen the reviews, so I guess I was lucky. Even more so because now I can get rid of it immediately before the rashes turn worse.

I love L'oreal Paris mascaras and use other brands from its parent company like Lancome, Urban Decay, and Maybelline for skincare and makeup, too. But I think I'll stick with Revlon for liquid eyeliners from now on...

Greetings from Mexico!
