This Is An Honest Review Of The Mineral Indulgence
This is an honest review of the Mineral Indulgence Liquid Silk Foundation and Natural Finish Powder for black and multiethnic/biracial women. First, a little background info about me....I have acne prone skin, super oily, and have severe blemishes. I am also a dark skinned mixed race woman...a few products that I have tried were Simply Karen, b.l.a.c minerals, and Monave. With the exception of Simply Karen, all of the above mineral makeup lines made my skin tone look slightly too red. In the case of Simply Karen....my skin just didn't have the finish and coverage that I prefer . I am around the color of Gabrielle Union if it helps, with dark circles under my eyes, and enlarged pores. I recieved my Mineral Indulgence products in about three days after I made my purchase, and bought the Chestnut Liquid Silk Foundation and the matching Natural Finish Powder.
The Liquid Silk Foundation is a thin consistency but glides on smooth....a little goes a long way with this product. I applied a small amount to my skin and immediately noticed that it felt VERY light (like I had nothing on) and wasn't oily at all...in fact I would say that it would be appropriate for both oily and dry skin. I strongly recommend applying this product after using a primer though. The Liquid Silk gave me a slight matte finish and gave a bit of a dewy glow. I allowed this to sort of "set" on my face for a little while and then brushed the Natural finish powder over my skin. This product is pretty "buildable" and by that, I mean that if you don't immediately get the heavy coverage that you want, you can apply the product by slightly dampening the brush and lightly going over your skin with the powder. I did this and achieved an AMAZING finish.
The product is all natural and the ingredients in the Liquid Silk Foundation in particular are mostly organic. I suppose what I would have liked to know prior to purchasing, was whether I could get my color customized (as many reviews I've seen have claimed). I did email them inquiring about this, and they did state that they could do free customization for customers free of charge. The Chestnut color works and blends amazingly on my skin, and I didn't have issues finding the correct shade as the cusomter service woman was VERY helpful. For anyone who has hyper pigmentation or who has blemishes, I would recommend asking for the customization just to be sure.
All in all, I think that the Mineral Indulgence line is an excellent mineral makeup line for women of color. I have Latina sisters who also had great success with the Mineral Indulgence line and they have more of an olive skin tone.
