Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Face

This is the moisturizer I use every day. It's made a significant difference in my skin in the few weeks that I've been using it. This is the best my skin has ever looked! It's moisturizing yet doesn't leave a greasy residue. It's simple to use because it's not too thick. It has a wonderful, faint tropical/coconut aroma, and the pump package is quite safe.

I bought this product as the usual cream I use for my face - Hawaiian Tropic Baby SPF60+ - was discontinued. Due to its predecessor's success I had high hopes.

The bottle claims that the product is oil free, hydrating, is lightweight and suitable for use under make up, whilst providing a high SPF of 30 for 12hrs.

I found that whilst the lotion - with its lovely coconutty scent - is both lightweight and oil free, it does not really hydrate. My skin felt slightly cooled for about 5mins by which time the lotion had set into a silky matt finish. Because it does not hydrate, I still needed to put moisturiser on over it before putting on foundation and by that time my face was over moisturised and the make-up melted off my face.

With regards to the 30SPF giving 12hr protection - well, I never take chances when it comes to my skin and dutifully reapplied every couple of hours and never got burnt. What impressed me that even after several re-applications my skin didn't feel oily or overloaded. It also did not lead to any break-outs.

The product is extremely water resistant and I had to double wash to get it off.

The product comes in an attractive 50ml bottle with a pump action spout, and a secure snap on lid which makes it handbag friendly. Do not lose the lid or the lotion will dry out into a solid mess in the nozzle in next to no time.

I would recommend this product to anyone who does not want a heavy lotion.

I'm already on my second bottle and will repurchase.
