My fiancé and I paid Nevada Haus a deposit of $800 for our pick of Xia’s litter back in April of 2022.

The puppy we initially picked ended up being a long coat which was not what we wanted. I spoke with a Nevada House through text and expressed that we wanted a shorthair GSD. They expressed that they were sorry for this and switched us to a different litter. From this point on, there was a lot of back and fourth.

It seemed that they could not provide a short hair pup for us. However, when they switched us to a third litter I held out hope and was empathetic to the apologies. Afters all, we all make mistakes and she doesn’t have control over every puppy.

When the third pup turned out to be a long coated pup. I began to question if we were maybe just being strung along. I expressed that this wasn’t going to be a good time for us to take on a pup (because at this point I was tired of waiting months and months for a pup when they had our $800 deposit). I simply just wanted out by this time.

I asked if we could have a refund of our deposit. They initially told me that they don’t normally refund deposits but that they would get back to me. (First of all, we never signed anything stating we would not receive a deposit back if we did not purchase a pup. There was absolutely zero in writing that stated this. And zero told to us about this prior to placing our deposit.)

I waited to hear back and never did. I reached out asking what the outcome was. They agreed that she would give us our deposit back once they sold our initial pick (the first pup back in April/May)

I was frustrated none of this was conveyed to us prior to placing our deposit, but I accepted it in hopes to not upset them and scared to rock the boat. I told them to please keep me updated. They agreed and said they would.

I waited one month and never heard from them. Checked back in with them. They tell me sorry it’s so slow here. That they were working on it. I accept this once again but start to become hesitant we will ever see our money back. I ask again to please check in with me about the deposit.

I wait another month and hear nothing. At this point I am basically having to chase them down for FOUR months. (Each month checking back in with them and asking about the status of our deposit.) They give me the same excuse that things are slow and they aren’t selling pups.

Meanwhile, they are posting many new litters to their social media pages, and many pups being sold. I felt like that they were not truthful with me. Something we did not expect from a “professional business”.

I decided to contact them one last time this past December (2022). I ask, if they can even give us at least portion of the money back if they cannot pay in full. (Still trying to be reasonable and understanding with them. By this point they have had our deposit since April.

They basically tell me there’s nothing they can do right now and that they’re still so slow and that I need to talk to the person handling the finances about it.

I express to them my frustration and tell them I feel like we are being given the run around and that they really need to return our money or that we will have to go about this in a different direction. They never responds to my message. I have yet to hear back from them and it is now half way through January.

I am sharing this because I do not want anyone else to be taken advantage of the way they have taken advantage of us. We are a young hard working couple. We feel incredibly hurt that someone would feel okay taking our money so easily and not doing everything in their power to get it back to us. It does not even seem like they have tried whatsoever to make this right with us. We are at a loss and beyond confused how a business that prides themselves on being professional can do this to someone.

Please be weary of doing business with Nevada Haus. If you do, I’m begging you to make sure you have everything in writing before placing a deposit on a pup.

I have always had German Shepherd Dogs, and Nevada Haus is in a class all by itself in breeding the best pups I have ever seen. They take such wonderful care of their animals, every one gets lots of love and attention, and the amount of room they have to run, play, and train is amazing. The owners are wonderful people, the experience is fantastic, and the GSD's are of the highest caliber. I would recommend Nevada Haus to anyone in search of a GSD whether it be as a pet, for protection, show, a new best friend, or all of the above. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are. We just love our girl, Khaleesi, from Nevada Haus. They are a true five star breeder.

Firstly, I have never been anywhere quite like Nevada Haus Kennels. Each of the German shepherd puppies for sale there were obviously incredibly happy with all that room to run about in. All puppies are cute but these puppies were so well looked after they were all gorgeous!

Talking to the staff and finding the right puppy for our family was so straight forward, which was a good job otherwise I would have taken every single one of those German shepherd puppies for sale, and brought them all home with me. We definitely made the right choice of pup and he’s a great addition to the family.
