Bad Customer Service

Really unhappy with the service of TReds. Won't be purchasing from them in the future. My item arrived with the plastic bag damaged so to return it I had no other choice but to send back in the box with a bit of sellotape but they refused a refund even though the sandals were in perfect condition. Be careful with how you return your items people!

To Exchange Or Not To Exchange

My daughter brought a pair of shoes for work, kept telling her to stop bying cheap shoes, you only get what you pay for. So she paid £45 for a black pair. Took them to work, she works inside, but after a hour they started rubbing and cutting her foot, it appears there is a black plastic piece cutting into her toes. She asked me and her mother to take them back to the shop, which we did today. The salesman, for want of a better word, turned the shoes over and said that they would not exchange or refund as they have been worned . The wife wasn't prepared to argue as it was obvious from his demeanour that he was right and we were wrong. My daughter phoned up the shop and spoke to someone there, possibly the person who dealt with us in the morning. His attitude hadn't change and he finished the phone call by telling my daughter that there was no need to get "Leary" . So my daughter contacted their customer services who sounded appalled by the attitude of the salesman, and requested that she sends pictures of the shoes and that they would make a decision. We sent the pictures and less that an hour later we received a reply saying " we have taken a look into your photos and we are unable to see any issues" it then goes on to say, take the shoes back to the store they will then send them off to be checked for a manufacturing fault, as you have said the shoes have cut your feet. It then goes on to say, " once our returns department has received your return it will be passed on to be evaluated" it then explains that if they are faulty they will exchange or refund, but items that are found to be wear and tear or "fitting issues" the items will be returned to sender and no exchange or refund will be offered.

On their till receipt for the item purchased under "current return policy" it states " if it turns out to be unsuitable for whatever reason, you can return the item to us within 14 days for a full refund or exchange to the same value" "up to 365 days we will happily exchang the goods"

Looks like a visit to Trading Standards is coming.

Awful, Unprofessional

Cancelled my purchase while shoes are still available for sale their website...

5 days after purchase was made they have realised item is not in stock. According to their website it should be dispatched within 1-2 days! 5 days later however they only decided to start processing my order...

And I received an automatic email confirmation about my item being out of stock with no apology or concern. What a welcome treatment for a new customer! Awful

Very Bad Retailer

My son paid £55 for a pair of trainers that lasted just over 3 months. The shop won't refund my son stating that the fault is down to wear and tear so it would appear that you shouldn't actually wear any trainers bought from this shop in case you wear them out. The shop simply refused to accept that the trainers must be faulty and I am disgusted by the way they are trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities as a retailer. Will never shop here again. We received a response from the retailer stating that the trainers were "completely worn" but how could this be the case after only 3 months ? Furthermore if in the extremely unlikely event that this was the case then these trainers aren't fit for purpose if they are completely worn out after only 3 months of being worn. So either way these trainers are not of satisfactory quality and a refund should be given. No doubt the retailer will now come up with some other reason why they won't honour their commercial obligations. The retailer also claimed that the insoles were missing when they were actually there. We collected the trainers from the shop and the insoles were in the box and the trainers are not worn out at all. I wish I could post photos here to confirm this but unfortunately this isn't an option. The fact that the insoles were there just goes to demonstrate how little attention was actually paid to these trainers and goes to show that this company's default setting when returning faulty goods is simply that the fault is down to wear and tear. We have emailed them again with photos showing that the trainers were in a very good condition and not worn at all apart from the fault. We have also written to the directors but have had no response so now they are ignoring us. Awful company.

2 Left Shoes!!!

I ordered a pair of fabulous red Rubyshoos from TReds and paid for express delivery as my Sons wedding was in a few days.I was thrilled when they arrived. I put on the first shoe on and I was thrilled but then I tried on the second shoe and this is when the problems started.I quickly realized that they had sent me 2 LEFT shoes!!! By this time it was 4pm on the Thursday and the Wedding was on the Saturday.I quickly telephone tReds customer service team to be greeted by a rather apathetic person. I explained the situation and she said that I would need to send back the shoes and then contact them again with the tracking number. I expressed that the Wedding was on Saturday and could they not just start the process now and send me a second pair and I would send back the 2 LEFT shoes tomorrow. No they would not help me out and insisted on a tracking number, I did not have time to waste so I had to get my credit card out and but a second pair so that they could try and get a pair to me asap. The customer service person then said that she would waive the 2nd delivery charge!!!! I could not believe that she had even considered that I should pay a second delivery charge. She showed me no compassion for me considering the once in a lifetime event these shoes were for. I was even prepared to send them photos of the 2 left shoes to show them so they didn't think I was trying to get a 2nd pair. They just kept saying that it was not their policy to send out a replacement pair until they have received a tracking number. They were not prepared to think out of the box.I contacted tReds to ask about the refund and expressing my disappointment with their service. I had noted on the shoes and be initialed as checked but this obviously had not happened. The apologies and said that they would refund original my delivery charge of £3.50. I inquired about any form of goodwill gesture for all the stress their incompetence had caused and was offered 10% discount I asked if this would be in addition to the delivery charge refund and was told no either or!!! well the delivery charge was £3.50 and 10% discount was £3.49, 1p difference!!I spoke to the head of IT who was equally unhelpful and then asked for the email address of someone higher up. I was given this but so far no response.I have always liked my local branch of tReds and have found them extremely helpful but their online is shocking. No compassion or understanding.

Disorganised Service Online, Ruined My Xmas. Beware!

I purchased pair of hunter boots for my father... had confirmation email that they will be delivered 24th Dec at the latest... Great I thought! Xmas present sorted!! I WAS WRONG! Days after I ordered them, I received another email to say that the box is damaged and they have refunded 10% to compensate. That's fine, I thought... no big worry.

Then , UNBELEIVABLY , another day or two later, I had yet ANOTHER email, saying THE ITEM IS NOT IN STOCK and have refunded me the full amount back. So they left me with no time to get my father an alternative gift and ruined my Xmas. I'm just curious and confused as to why they would mention the 'damaged box' yet there were none in stock..??! A mystery bigger than big foot himself.

Beware The Refund Trap

I tried to return an item that was 4 days over the 14 day refund policy. I very rarely return items and to be told I was 4 days over is an absolute insult!!! The sales assistant was blunt and rude too. Avoid

I have been refused a refund too over static shocks. tReds won't refund because I wore the shoes once. How would I have known about the static shocks if I hadn't worn them. Catch 22 or what?

Appalling Lack Of Customer Service

This review is not about the store, which I love, it is about their online facility. I have given 1 star as I cannot have it published with a 0.

I ordered a pair of converse in my usual size, I currently own 3 pairs, on the Saturday, and paid for next day delivery. I was expecting them to arrive on the Tuesday. I received confirmation and a choice of delivery options. I chose "leave with a neighbour" as usual. They didn't arrive on the Tuesday. On the Wednesday I received 2 texts advising of the delivery that day. When I got home there was a card advising my parcel was at a sub post office some miles away. I have one 2 minutes away and a main post office about 5 minutes away. It was too late to pick them up. I called Parcelforce to complain and was told re-delivery could take 3 days more. I explained I was going away first thing Friday morning and needed them on the Thursday. At the same time I told them I had previously requested my parcels were not taken to that sub post office again. I also complained to treds. On the Thursday I received a text telling me they had tried to re-deliver my parcel but there was no one at home. I received another text 2 minutes later advising they were going back to the same sub post office. I had to take holiday time to get there before they closed. I was told they hadn't been collected and returned that morning, they had been collected about 2ish. I showed them the texts and they suggested I call to complain, which I did. Parcelforce said they didn't know who sent me the texts, and that the delivery options are a waste of time as the drivers don't see the replies. They declined to allow me to forward the texts so they could investigate. I went away Friday morning, to WEYMOUTH, without receiving my parcel. That afternoon I received an email from treds advising the parcel had been left with a neighbour and my complaint was resolved! Really, you think so! I got back 10 days later on the Sunday night. The converse were too small. I tried to order a collect plus return voucher but they wanted £4.60 instead of the £1 they charge with the order, or nothing had they arrived as per my paid for delivery as I could have returned them to the store. I complained again. The following Thursday I complained again as I hadn't received a response. On the Friday I received a reply stating they hadn't read my previous complaint but it was now resolved!!!! I complained again and again received no response. A week later I complained again. I asked that they call me urgently to sort the problem out. Needless to say they haven't bothered. I'm not looking to go back to Weymouth until Christmas, so it looks like they'll have a long wait for my returns. Its such a shame as I love their choice and the Collect Plus returns are great. They need to offer delivery by Collect Plus as well, and they seriously need to sort out their appalling treatment of paying customers.

Will Spend My Money Elsewhere!!

Sales girl was quite rude and unhelpful. Not a lot in my size usually anyway, but I asked what they had in converse. She said it wasn't possible for her to keep looking at what there was in my size and that I should just pick which design I liked. After 6 or so unavailable she just sort of huffed off and went and served someone else. I wanted some winter boots too, but took my £200 and spent it elsewhere. I will not be visiting Treds again.

I was in exactly the same situation in a Weymouth Store! Perhaps head office tell all their managers this. Despicable service. I would advise anyone to stay away and buy brands elsewhere.
