Unsafe For Toddlers

I am a childminder and was given this pram by a family member. I used this pram for a twenty one month old and at first it seemed lovely, really comfortable for the child, however, as soon as I went to push the pram off the pavements the wheels locked and the pram tipped forwards which was really alarming. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone.

Love This Pram!

After finding out we were expecting #2 we wanted a new pram instead of our Mamas & Papas Pliko. After getting this pram second hand i am absolutely thrilled with it! Very modern and looks nice and smart, the handle is great as it adjusts so me and my otherhalf can push it with ease. Very easy to push, and is a dream to maneuver compared to my Pliko.

I took the seat and hood off to wash and it was super easy to do (again unlike my Pliko or Jive which were a pain!) and they came up great.

I find it very easy to push 1 handed unlike my previous pram, and easy to fold down/turn from parent to forward facing. I am not a fan at all of carseats on prams so we won't be using one on it, and we don't drive so no need for it to fit in any boots.

All in all great pram!

Love This Pram

I bought this travel system a year ago when expecting my daughter and loved it straight away. It's stylish and caters for all my needs. It only just fits into the boot of my car Bly downside I suppose. I was shocked to read such bad reviews about the pram it's never given me any hassle and I'm now having to reluctantly sell mine due to new baby arriving and needing double buggy. But would def recommend this pram to anyone

I Miss My Xcursion

I got my Xcursion on sale from Mothercare and was happy that it ticked all the boxes. Adjustable handles, Excellent sized basket and parent/forward facing options. The car seat was ok at first but by the time our son reached 4/5 months he was finding it difficult to fit comfortably, his shoulders were too broad and his legs were too long. We did find later on comparison that the carseat was small compared to others on the market. The parent facing option was something I loved on here though but soon found little niggles.

After a while there was a constant grinding sound coming from one of the back wheels, then one side of the frame stopped gliding into position when opening so it had to be done manually. The back tires never punctured but seemed to need air rather quickly The front wheels were sometimes difficult in certain situations but knowing what the pushchair could and couldn't do kind of helped past that. There was also a problem with the brakes when trying to take them off it wouldnt release and you would have to jiggle the chair back and forth so it would free the wheels.

Eventually took it back to mothercare for repairs because for all its faults it's a chair that we really liked, only to find it was discontinued and no longer available. So we eventually had a refund and had to find something else but nothing else on the market does what the xcursion did in that price range.

Completely Unsafe

The first time i saw this pushchair, i fell in love with it. My mum purchased it for me as it was a gift for my first child. Loved how light it was and the fact you could put the car seat straight on to the chassis. Was fantastic when my little girl was tiny but seems that the pushchair doesn't like toddlers. The straps are at the longest and barely fit, i have to force them in order to do them up. The front wheels are useless and seem as though they can't take any weight. They lock and stop the pushchair, throwing my little girl forward. Completely unsafe. Have been to mothercare today and have exchanged for a silver cross. Maybe this is the reason this travel system is no longer sold by mothercare! Kind of gutted really as i do like the pushchair but got to think of the safety of my child.

Xcursion Is No Excursion (seat Facing Outward)

Being a first time Mum, was confused what pram to buy. In the end I chose Mother Care's Xcursion. This pram is great when the baby is still a newborn/up to 6months, but when he or she enters into toddler stage its trouble. I know all babies are not the same size but my baby is small for her age, she's not ur average 10mth old, and I'm finding it hard. She is now entering the toddler stage and I find it hell to fit her in. First of all the seat is not a seat, its more like a slide and my baby's legs are dangling over the edge of the seat and the footrest is too far away for her to rest her feet. There's no foot rest, I've extended the straps to the longest length and i have to force myself to pull it so that she fits in the seat. She cries at the discomfort. My Mum is furious and I am now going to sling the pram and buy a better one on Boots website. The only good thing about this product is the size of the basket and the long handles. I don't understand how this design found its way into Mothercare stores, this is a joke and a VERY BAD PRODUCT!!!. A very unsatisfied customer who wasted over #200.00 to only serve just 10mths. DONT'T BUY IT!!!

Definetely Reccommended

When I was pregant I spent hours researching every piece of baby equipment we had to buy as money was tight. I was concerned about some reviews about this but the xcursion ticked all our boxes: Economical, includes car seat, both car seat and pram base can face either way, cosy toes & raincover included in the price and we could get it in black. My son is 5 months old and I cant reccommend this system highly enough. The car seat is very light which I love as I have a bad back. It has a removable head hugger for when they get bigger which gives extra usage of the car seat as they grow. My son is now 19lbs and there is still plenty room. The pram base is lovely and snug for a new born also with removeable head hugger. It has 3 inclines which when they are older is handy for napping. The cosy toes is lovely and thick and the raincover fits well. The basket underneath is sizeable and the handle easily adjustable. I have been fortunate to have no problems with the wheels locking whilst pushing. There is a great feature which makes the front wheels either swivel or lock, and the lock feature is brilliant for rocking them in the house at nap time - it makes it easy to push back and forth on the spot. I suppose the only thing may be to check the size of your boot - we have a large people carrier so it wasnt an issue, but not sure how well it would fit in a smaller car. There is no mistaking it takes a while to get used to folding / assembling the wheel base - there is a special knack so practice before leaving the hospital or you'll end up fumbling around with red faces like us!

In A Nutshell..useless! 1. Carrying Ha

in a nutshell..useless!

1. carrying handle is coming off sometimes, causing baby to be dropped!!!

2. front wheels lock and risk of knocking off baby !!!

3. rear wheels frequently need air refill

4. pushchair doesn't fit into a middle-size car's boot (Corolla or BMW 1)

5. closing the pushchair takes considerable time and sometimes stacks, it needs oil to make it work again

6. car chair is very very small, only fits infants of about up to 4 months old

tried also to take it back without success

I've had the same problem, my 10mth old is dangling out of it, I looking to get another pram from Boots. This design is no good for a growing child. The seat is more like a slide.

I brought this pushchair at the weekend and asked about the wheels

She said the reason they lock is because they are on the wrong sides.

Why did you not check the car boot before buying the pushchair????

I Love My Mothercare Xcursion, I Had Read Alot Of

i love my mothercare xcursion, i had read alot of diffrent reviews about it and was abit put off as alot of people had said about the wheels locking, this has never happened to me thank god and up to now it has been a great pushchair, my son loves it as its very comfy and he looks very snug when he falls asleep, love the way the pushchair reclines, the only downsides i would say about it is the frame is quite large when folded so wont fit into our boot if we take it out we have to put it on the front seat and i sit in the back, another thing is although te footmuff is very comfy and padded, there isnt alot of room in it and although my son is fine in it now (10months) when he gets bigger he wont be able to use it anymore, however i would recommend this pushchair its been fab!

I Am Increasingly Frustrated With This Buggy. In T

I am increasingly frustrated with this buggy. In the beginning I was impressed and I liked it alot and would happily recommend it to anyone, but not anymore. Because of one very simple design flaw, the front wheels. They constantly lock, spread apart and impede travel, fold under and stop the buggy dead, and are completely useless on wet surfaces and undulating terrain (paths with central guttering channels for example) and send the buggy off in different directions.

I'm sad to have to report this, this buggy was a gift from my wife's family. It seemed the perfect travel system, light, compact, stylish, comfortable, and something we could use for a long time as it catered for a growing child. But for the problem with the wheels I would have given this 5 stars. But the flaw is so fundemental it negates every other aspect. It is actually quite dangerous and has almost cost my and my wife accidents on several occaison. Twice the wheels locked at the top of a travelator while trying to get off, causing the buggy to tilt up and my wife to crash into the back of it. Almost every time I try to mount a curb the wheels lock, extremely dangerous when cars are coming as the buggy stops dead and who ever is pushing it is stuck on the road. And when it suddenly goes out of control and changes direction we have almost hit people as they pass.

I would not recommend this buggy to anyone. I was tempted to give this 2 stars because the fact is, it is comfortable and my daughter likes it. But I decided not to because of the frustration it causes and the many near accidents it has almost caused me and my wife. Keep looking - that's my advice
