A Dangerous Unstable Pram/ Disgusting Customer Servive

I bought this pram as it was one of the most expensive models on the market and being so i thought that the quality of the pram and the fact that i had purchased it from mamas and papas would guaranty a safe, high quality purchase. I was wrong in both instances.

It is true that the Stokke Xplory pram is beautiful and if you purchase one you will most definitely receive many compliments. However this does not compensate for it's poor, dangerous design.

the pram is so light that on one occasion it was blown over by the wind, luckily not whilst my daughter was seated in it, I was willing to overlook this event as no harm was done to my daughter.

However the last incident resulted in having to take my daughter to the hospital. the seat, with my daughter still strapped init, came off of the frame while we were in the street. Resulting in my daughter hitting her head on the pavement from a big hight, an incident which could have potentially been fatal.

I make a conscious effort to check my pram every day and The seat was attached to the frame properly.

customer service from mamas and papas is disgraceful. It took me quite sometime to get in-touch with them. They were unwilling to change or refund me my money for the pram. They are adamant to send the pram back for testing and offered my a used, lone pram until the issue is resolved. After multiple conversations they finally agreed to lone me a new pram I have decided after such poor customer care and such a horrendous accident which could have cause my daughter her life I am considering suing through the small claims court.

I never intend to purchase anything ever again from mamas and papas and will be advising all my friend not to shop with them either. As they clearly see nothing wrong in supplying used items to customers, surely there are health and safety issues with lending out a pram which could have been used by multiple amount of people? and your purchases are not assured as when a fault does take place they refer you to the manufactures when it is in fact their responsibility to resolve the problem. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE seriously reconsider purchasing this pram, I wish I had.

Love My Stokke, Never Needed To Buy Any Other!

I'm quite tall so being able to walk without kicking a brake bar was great. I used it every day for 2.5 years without any problems, and I'm now getting it back out for no. 2. As a baby she was lovely and high, so we could interact easily, and have contact as I could reach her little toes. I think her vocabulary benefitted from this. When older she would choose to face me, or away, which was great when visiting places as she could see over fences and walls. It could carry loads as I had a skip hop bag with clips to put it on the handlebar, and the front bar lifts so you can put lots of bag on the sides.

It is quite big and if you're under 5'5" you may find it heavy, however when up it is so manoeuvrable with one hand, and the 2 wheel function mean stairs and buses are no problem. It also doesn't fold really small so if you have a small car you lose your boot which is only a regular pain when supermarket shopping. For driving holidays we put it in a roof box to gain extra space. We never had the Pram as the insert in the pushchair was fine; also the foot cosy is too big for little one and fur lined, so had to take off muddy toddler shoes when putting her in it so not buying these would save a few pennies. We also got the maxi cosi car seat as part of deal with pushchair which made it very affordable :)

Poor Customer Service, Heavy And Expensive

I really not advice you to buy this pram .

It is first very inconvenient to transport as it is big, very big and heavy as well. I really wonder who dare to write on their review that it is light because it is NOT...

As well I had a problem with one of the wheel which was not rolling properly and the customer service never got back to me ... I had to chase them and finally who got no help from them ....

It is really not what you expect when you pay such a price !!!

To finish I had to buy a cheaper pram , light and easily transportable land I can finally move aroundd with my little one

Love This Pram!

I bought this pram from word of mouth and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love it. And so does my little girl. I got the whole set; carrycot, stroller, changing bag, shopping bag, parasol, foot muff and stokke matching car seat. And every penny I have spent has been worth it. My LO I now 14 months old and iv never had any trouble with it. It folds and unfolds so easily. So light and so extremely easy to push, turns 360• on one spin so good in crowded lifts/ areas. Adjustable height so baby can look straight into ur eyes instead of lOoking at ppls legs and feet. Lies fully back. Can be used as a high chair if completely necessary.

People have said how they dislike the pram because of silly things- not enough shade for example. That's what the parasol is there for. That it's heavy... Obviously they haven't felt some that are out at the minute. That there isnt a hanging place for shopping bags- this i presume is purpously done by stokke as its dangerous. People who hang shopping bags on trollies aren't realising that when that weight gets heavier than their baby it will tip up... And all of these things are totally outweighed by the fact that the baby is at eye level when the pram is set at the highest point. All ur baby wants is too see its mummy/ daddy so even when ur out and about they are reassured that they are with you. Such a joy to see their smiling faces. Then chatting to u as they get older.

I love my stokke!!!

Good Product But Poor Service From Stokke

I ordered the Stokke Explory pushchair & carrycot from Mothercare, they weren't available as a package so had to be ordered as 2 separate items. Delivery was around 13 working days with no tracking or notification from Stokke when the items were despatched. I received the pushchair after 12 days & assumed the carrycot would arrive the following day.

On assembly I discovered that the locking mechanism which attached the chair to the chassis was faulty so the seat wouldn't lock into position. I called Mothercare who were to order another from Stokke, I also enquired when the carrycot would be delivered.

It took 4 days before Mothercare received a response from Stokke who agreed to replace the chair but insisted that the carrycot had been delivered at the same time as the pushchair. They were taking the word of the couriers, Translink, without further investigation.

The customer service from Mothercare has been excellent, they are ordering another carrycot for me at their expense & will take up the issue of non-delivery of the original with Stokke.

The product itself is smart, stylish & easy to maneuver, & despite the fault seems very good quality. The chassis is quite large & heavy & there is a 'knack' to raising & collapsing it but once you've mastered this it's relatively easy.

In summary, if you are ordering a Stokke product I would ensure it's from a company with excellent customer service such as Mothercare. If it was left to Stokke I would be without a carrycot for which I had paid but wasn't delivered.

I wrongly assumed that a company which manufactures such high end products such as Stokke would have a good customer service to match, this will prevent me from ordering their products in the future.

I Absolutely Love My Stokke. We Bought It When My

I absolutely love my Stokke. We bought it when my daughter was 3 months old and she is now nearly 2. I agonised over the decision to buy such an expensive buggy and unlike others, I'd prefer not to stand out in the crowd.

Why it works for us:

1. We live in the city and use the bus alot. While other kids in buggies are staring at the side of the bus and people's bums and legs, my daughter entertains herself by looking out the window. For this reason alone, I am totally satisfied with my choice of buggy.

2. My husband and I are both tall (we also have a Maclaren for travelling

and the wear and tear on our backs from stooping over is truly noticeable!)

3. We don't have a car. (See number one below)

4. We have space to store it in our foyer. (see number one below)

Why I haven't given it 5 stars

1. I have absolutely no idea how to fold it down. My husband has before, but I've never had to and I couldn't if you asked me to. We were aware of this when we bought it though, as salespeople at two different baby shops were totally clueless as to how it folded.

2. The brakes weaken quickly and need to be maintained regularly. This may be because I regularly overload it with a week's worth of food shopping...

As with many ££ buggies, you'll probably want to buy a second, cheaper, umbrella stroller like a Maclaren for travelling. I was totally averse to buying two buggies in the beginning, but after speaking with several nanny friends, I realised this was inevitable if you travel alot like we do. We use our Maclaren when we need to get in cars or airplanes and leave our Stokke at home. We appreciate it all the more when we return!!

Hope that helps. I read a million and one reviews before I bought my buggy and realised I should probably contribute to the general knowledge as well ;)

At The Baby Show In London 2010 Stokke Happily Pr

At the baby show in London 2010 Stokke happily promoted the Stokke Xplory. What they didn't mention was that the model was just to be discontinued...

A lot of people bought the old version of stokke xplory unaware of the new Xplory coming...

Buying a pram for £820 at a baby show you expect to have something extraordinary, the latest and best but what you get is lies lies lies...

With a delivery time of around 10 weeks the new model is launched just when you get your old model delivered.

I have talked with the managers of stokke uk, about this problem but have not showed any interest in solving this problem. they offered a old version of the yellow cover...

Stokke are not afraid to lie to their pregnant customers in order to sell more, what else do they hide us??? Security problems? yes indeed they had to recall the pram because to much in a hurry to make more profit the lauch without enough checks .....

I Think It Is Really Too Expensive For The Money,

I think It is really too expensive for the money, I am extremely desapointed it is made of a cheap material after 4 months of use there is already scraches everywhere. It is unstable and very heavy.Very difficult to fold and it it can not enter in every car ...No space in the small mini bag ....

I Work As A Nanny And Have A 4 Year Experience Wit

I work as a nanny and have a 4 year experience with toddlers and have to say that throughout those 4 years I have tried many prams and this one by Stokke was the worst one. There is not a single good thing about it apart from the fact that it looks different so everyone noticed it any where I went. I work in London and spent lots of time outdoors and use a public transport on daily basis and this is a nightmare to even go for a walk with. It's very difficult to push with one hand, prams itself feels very heavy and there's very little space in an attached bag to put stuff in. Other prams at least enable to hung your own bag around handle but this one is a miserable exception. When I worked for a family who owned Stokke pram, I found it extremely difficult to go for a day out with their son as firstly there was not enough room to put his stuff in (not mentioning we didn't have chance to take his toys as ball/basket/spade etc because we just couldn't put it anywhere) and secondly he was just not able to sleep in that pram as there is not enough space and shade to make him comfortable enough to fall asleep. Thirdly I always struggle on the bus as this pram is one ofi funny measures.

DEEPLY DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED. Would never recommend it to anyone and was quite shocked how pricy it is to be honest!!!

Really! I find I can carry loads on it as the bar across the baby can be lifted to carry lots of bags. I really miss it when I now go shopping. It is also great on public transport due to the 2 wheel function. I used it till my daughter was 2 1/2 as she enjoyed beng high up and able to interact and see everything. And I can push it with on hand, it turns 360 on itself and isnarrow enough to nip through any gaps in shops. HAPPY, HAPPY, HERE. Worth every penny :)
