We Chose This Model For Our First Child In 2010, A
We chose this model for our first child in 2010, as it was recommended by the staff at Paul Strides shop in York. I wanted a 3 wheel based travel system, which fit with My Maxi Cosi car seat and this fitted the bill. I am happy with it from this point of view as it is very easy to steer with all three attachments and is good on fairly bumpy terain.
Being a 3 wheeler, when mounting a curb or coming down a curb it makes the unit unstable. I think there is a button which you can switch on top of the front wheel arch which keeps it pointing straighht making it easier to do this manouver but it is a bit of a faff if in a rush.
The 3 wheel aspect also makes the push chair unstable when the footpath is on an incline and I find myself (and so does my husband) struggling to compensate to keep the chair in the correct position. This could be argued to be the councils fault rather than the push chairs fault! As it is quite a heavy model this can sometimes be quite strenuous.
I read on another review that the foot muff (winter one in our case) slips down even if conected to the specific clips which it does and this is my main complaint. If the seat was more of a bucket style where babys bottom would be sloping back rather than flat it would not happen. The push chair relys on the 'between the legs' strap keeping baby in position, which looks like it cuts around the nappy area a bit too much. My daughter always looked a bit slumped ( up to 1.5 years) because of it, instead of being snug, and I always had to pull her by her armpits to an upright position.
The hood is great and pulls right over to shade from sun or rain but does pull the chair position up a little when the chair is laying flat. This is not such a big deal.
We bought the solid sided carry cot which was fantastic and we used it as her travel cot for the first 5 months. We got a fly net which fits where it touches, maybe I was putting it on wrong?? The free rain cover is fairly poor quality and after 1 year was totally crinkled and opaque and we ended up buying a universal cover wich fits better and my daughter can actually see through.
I bought the winter hand muff which I would deffinately recommend! It is great and well worth the money. One of the foam hand grips was ripped accidentally and so I bought the leather look handles which sorts this problem out.
It does looks stylish and has stood 1.5 years of daily use well so far, with very little fading to the covers etc.
I feel that the suspension is one of its best features and think it must be a very smooth ride compared to other push chairs that I hear rattling down the pavements or paths, and so we have no problem in going for walks with the dog down country tracks with her in it.
I have said I would not recommend to a friend as I think there may be better models from other companies which have a better seat position but feel the quality and durability of it are outstanding. Typical German engineering.
Hope this helps?

We Bought The Teutonia S3 For Our Daugther Around
We bought the Teutonia S3 for our daugther around August 2009. We chose black which has proved a good choice, and the matching summer footmuff (winter footmuff not really needed in our weather) is warm and easy to wash. However, the footmuff is prone to slipping down the pushchair, even with the connecters clipped together and it doesn't cover my daughter right up to her chest. It handles well and I love having the handbrake, which has been useful on steep slopes. However, I was interested to note in the other review that they have had problems with the footbrake sticking, as I have lately too - almost every time I use it.
The cover provided by the hood is fantastic, it can be pulled over quite far - to give shade and for cover from the rain. Although it can pull the chair part into a seated position if you pull it too far over when the chair is in the reclined position. The chair can be reclined but does not seem to click in many positions - I think there are about three; upright, fairly flat and with a slight tilt. Another useful feature is the moveable handle, which has come in especially useful when using the lift in shopping centres / being able to pull the pushchair up close to a table and when packing it away in the boot of the car.
The underbasket is big but it is difficult to put larger things in there as there is a metal bar running across the underside of the chair which gets in the way.
It is quite heavy, which I knew before purchasing, and does take up quite a lot of space in the mondeo's boot (but then I suppose most pushchairs do).
On the whole it is a really smooth ride - easy to push and turns well. I chose it as I had not seen any when I was out and about and I thought I would have a make no-one else nearby had. If I could change one bit it would be the hood - to have more padding in the metal arches as my daughter has leant against them and been uncomfortable enough to cry as her head bounced against them.

We Bought The S3 Spirit 3 Wheeler After Looking Fo
We bought the S3 SPIRIT 3 wheeler after looking for the best pram to meet my needs! I wanted a robust, comfortable off road type pram that was very practical, tyres that wouldnt punctured and was able to be hosed down!!! The S3 Spirit has exceeded my expectations...it has been fantastic and does an average of 20-30 miles a week no probs! Most features have been well designed and work well. Although we do have a slight problem with the foot brake sticking on and I wouldnt waste money on the parasol...it is less that useless...especially when out and about, it is a bit flimsy and wobbly!

After a very long research I've decided to get the Teutonia Lambda pushchair.I wanted something nice, good quality and NOT Bugaboo that everyone have!! The Lambda is a 4 wheeler and its their newest model. Its absolutely fantastic pushchair, its very comfortable for the baby and for me,of course. It has everything that i wanted- the seat is forward and rear facing, good storage, easy to push and turn around. Its very protective and safe for the child, great quality. It has good design and the colour choice is good, but to be honest they should provide more colour options really.
Overall, I would def recommend this pushchair to all new parents, its well worth the money!

Aftern Many Hours, Days, Months Of Research We Dec
Aftern many hours, days, months of research we decided to go for the Teutonia Spirit S3 08 black model.
Teutonia are big in the continent but only a few dealers in the UK.
After viewing in one of the dealers, we opted to save alot more money by purchasing through mail order in Germany. At the time (Oct 07) the Euro was not that bad and saved about £100 all in compared with the UK dealer.
We chose the Bassinet, main unit and Maxi Cosi adaptors.
The bassinet is buy far supiorior than the flimsy bad base Buggaboo one. We used it on many occasions as the travel cot also as it sat nicely on the floor. Another excellent feature is that the handle is in the hood which is perfectly balanced.
After about six months we said goodbye to the Bassinet and brought out the main seat which comes with the frame. by good design, the maxi cosi adaptors fold neatly below the chair so when you wish to use the car seat you dont have to go and find them in the garage etc.
both the chair and bassinet can be facing either way. Excellent to see all those first smiles and giggles! So many prams these days face away so you miss so much of what they are looking at.
The main chair has the footrest which folds away and back up right. The chair folds down completely flat to allow the little one to sleep for hours. The cloth is uv protective and the visor hood closes so much that it can keep the sun out at most parts of the day.
The quality of the frame, wheels and suspension are of typical german quality. It really is the Audi of the pram world! The forward suspension seemed a little harsh at first, but now realise its perfect for when they get older and compensates for the added weight.
The wheels are foam filled rather than the puncture hungry air tyres. Every body I know with air tyres have had to deal with punctures when they are far from home/car. With the great suspension and foam wheels the pram glides along.
bad points (and I'm thinkig hard here.....)
when folded the forward wheel arch scrapes along the ground.
We have broken two of the bumper bars. However, Teutonia replaced them free of charge after a quick email.
Our little one is now 19 months and another is due in November and now the hunt for a twin has been started.
I really wish Teutonia made a similier Phil and Ted as I would purchase immedietly.
If you are looking for a solid very practical pram for country walks or just shopping malls, then look no further than Teutonia. The choice of colours are fantastic.
What my wife liked especially is that everbody who we know are really impressed by it and its not very often you see them in the UK.
Forget your quinny or bugaboo, go get yourself an Audi!!

Overall, Would Recommend This Teutonia S3 Pushchai
Overall, would recommend this Teutonia S3 Pushchair. The best thing about it is that it is sturdy and reliable, it has a three year guarantee and you can see why. We have never had any major trouble with it, unlike what you read about other expensive prams. Also it is super comfortable for baby. He never ever objects to getting back in after running around park etc. I love that it is rear facing at all stages and always use it rear facing. Also break is good and seat easy to move through positions. Baby loves that the handle position goes low enough for him to push pram. Very manourerable, but probably heavier than some prams. Some bad points though - the rain cover we got with it is useless, not see through and flimsy just a plastic bag. We dont use it. The hood does not fold down properly especially when the pram is fully reclined. The net at the back of the hood I could never see the point of and it is always in the way, (even on the baby's face when lying flat) when it is folded back. We had some trouble with the mechanism to change position, got very stiff. We need to take it into two parts to fit in large boot and also to make it light enough to lift, but you get used to this. Pretty big for small lifts etc. Finally, we were told buy store that it could be used from birth although manfacturers dont agree. It does go pretty flat, but you have to strap baby in, no problem though, would use it like this again. Overall though, we are happy - two years later still using it and have given it a hard time. We bought it to use off road, it is good on a rough surface.

After Looking Lots Of Pushchairs, We Found The Teu
After looking lots of pushchairs, we found the teutonia 3 wheeler travel system lurking at the back of a shop. I am so glad we did. We also bought the adaptors so we could clip on our maxi cosi car seat. The S3 is excellent for off road and for those who do a lot of walking, It ' s also good in shops as it ' s really maneuverable. As well as the main foot brake, there is also a hand brake which comes in handy when you are going down steep hills. The tyres are plastic with rubber on the outside for a smoother ride, but no tyres so no punctures. The pushchair is suitable from birth so no need for expensive pram attachments. The pushchair can be either facing you or outwards. When the pushchair faces outwards, you can see in through a window, which can also be covered over when your baby is asleep. We purchased the footmuff so our LO would be comfy and warm. The inside of the footmuff is a velvet like material, so it is really soft, the top section of the footmuff can be unzipped so your LO can lie in comfort in the summer and still be cool. We purchased the apron to keep the sun off the pram in the summer. The hood is detachable and attached to the hood is netting. In the summer part of the hood can be unzipped and the netting allows a small breeze to cool the pushchair down. The handle is adjustable to suit your height. But I love that it can be folded right down or up to make the pushchair slightly smaller, so it fits nice and snug in our hall and I can get past it when the LO is asleep. The pushchair position is moved by a bar at the back of the pushchair, so no fiddly straps to move. The pushchair also comes with a raincover, which covers the whole of the pushchair for total protection from the elements. There is also some pretty decent storage space underneathI love this pushchair; it all comes apart, including all the wheels, which means I can fit it into my small car. We recently purchased a £100 stroller for me to keep in my car instead of having to dismantle the S3. Even though the S3 is 4 times more expensive you can see where the money goes. It ' s just smoother and sturdier. I don't use the stroller as much as I thought and still prefer the S3.
