Rubbish Customer Service Guy Did Not Know What Hes On About!

After searching around for different gift list I stumbled upon Next and through yes! Wrong! Complete no. Add a good dew items to the list only to go back onto it after being sign out, technical error after technical error to see I had no items on my list. Half the items I wanted were not available. Called customer service did not help at all and did not have a clue!

Absolute waste of time do not use instead try John Lewis, reasonably priced also!

If you really want next ask guest to buy Next vouchers or try Prezola.

Lists Faulty, Wrong Contact Number, Team Doesn't Care Less!!

Absolutely appaling experience trying to set up a gift list and deal with their "customer service". I'm a bride due in 2 weeks time and I STILL don't have a gift list in place because their site is dodgy and doesn't allow items to be added, only 6 in total! I spent the last 2 MONTHS calling their utter rubbish "customer care" line which is WRONG and I get transfered 4 TIMES to get to the right department, and then reach the point I'm told "someone will call me back" - but guess what, they NEVER call back!!

AVOID NEXT LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you are in to have your wedding destroyed!

Terrible Service!

I tried to order off a friend's son's wedding list but found when got to payment part it wanted to deliver goods to me and charge me £4 for the privilege!! The couple stay 50miles away so I certainly didn't want the items. There did not appear to be anywhere in process that gave option to hold goods until couple arranged delivery of goods all at once - which is normal practice on any gift list I have previously used. I went out of my way to visit a large Next store with big Home department to get help to solve problem- spoke to various members of staff in varying seniority and no- one appeared to know anything about Gift Lists!! I phoned Gift List helpline and they were equally useless and seemed not to understand concept of holding goods and delivering them together. I ended up getting items sent to my friend who will pass them on. A very unsatisfactory service. Perhaps some staff training !!!

Exactly my complaint!! Couldn't believe I had no option but to have it delivered to ME and pay for that privilege!!!! Absolutely NOT the way a Wedding Gift List should work. Won't make the same mistake again. Next have lost me as a customer.

This service is terrible.

- I couldn't add items to the list which resulted in always having to call their support team to get items added

- Most of my friends/family couldn't purchase items off the list as payment wouldn't work

- When someone did manage to purchase from the list, it didn't remove the purchased items. Which meant that I actually had the embarrassment of receiving the same items from several friends which they had to return.

What's even better is that when we were having problems with the list, some Next employees didn't even know how to use the list and were unable to help, so we were left stuck.

Do Not Use - Awful

So many problems it's unreal. Made our list up with lots of items people started buying them but they didn't remove the items from the list. Kept getting text messages and phone calls from delivery drivers advising we would have items delivered but they weren't coming to us but to our guests. They also charge £30 if you aren't in to accept delivery's even though you don't know they're coming until the day. They also doubled their prices on items without updating our list but putting the items to sold out. Awful customer service and not what you need for your wedding. Go elsewhere

What Gift List?

Just like a previous review, I wanted to buy a gift off the list, but I didn't want to pay for 4.99 delivery charge as well!! So I went to my store only a mile away to buy the item, but wanted them to take it off the list (obviously so no-one else got it)None of the staff new anything about "the wedding list service" although they were polite, they tried to help me but couldn't as they couldn't access the list (even though I gave them the relevant number and password)

This service could be made very simple, but who wants to pay delivery charge when the store is so close? NEXT need to make this a seamless service so that it helps everyone who uses it. (Not just for those who want it delivered)

And please train your staff so that when a customer provides them with a list number and a password they can edit the list!!!

Not A Wedding Gift List

The list itself was easy to find and use. Purchased item, gave name to go with gift and a personal message. Then it went wrong: Item delivered to me! Why? I did not ask for the gift to come to me - indeed there was no such choice. Phoned and someone more senior was to phone me back. Didn't happen so phoned again and got cut off.Sent e-mails x 2. Phoned again and again cut off but they phoned right back this time. They tell me that this is how wedding lists work i.e. gift to guest to wrap and give. They did offer to refund the delivery charge and of course I could return item - but Bride & Groom already have message and gift ticked off! I did say they should give explanation about their gift service on the web site because I do think they are different to others.

Apalling Customer Service From Next

we set up our wedding gift list with next as the products were nice and reasonably priced for our guests. we then found out that the guests had to have the gifts delivered to their address which was pointless as the idea was so that the guests did not need to carry gifts to the wedding and they were charged 5 pounds for delivery when we had brought next 900 pounds in business with taking our giftlist out with them. We tried to call next to see about other options as some of the gifts were larger in size and the customer service team have a poor understanding of the English language and we got no where with them. we are now 4 weeks before the wedding and have just seen that 90% of our giftlist is not in stock but they have plenty of the items on the shelves in store and we only found this out through our guests telling us when they went on to purchase an item online. We received no notification from next when we could have easily chosen a replacement for the out of stock gift. I would not recommend using next to anyone.

Appalling - Does Not Work

I wish I had read these reviews before we signed up with Next Gift List. I agree with all other reviewers. The Next service is awful. Initially we spent a long time adding items to our basket to transfer to the list but each time it kept crashing and logging us out and we had to repeat the process. We did this several times. The list is difficult to manage and the website is not user friendly.

Two days before the wedding one of my guests told me all of the items on the list were out of stock and I had to rush through and make changes. No where in the list does it tell you when something goes out of stock and when you click on the item link you only get a photo of the product instead of being redirected to the page on the website where you may have been able to see it was out of stock.

There was no gift wrapping service.

There was no facility for me to enter an address where the guests should send the items which left them only with the option of sending to themselves, which was pointless as we were getting married abroad and it would have been easier to have the gifts delivered directly, or contacting me for an address.

Next dont deliver to work addresses which would have been very troublesome for having a large number of items sporadically delivered to me.

In the end only one guest was able to order from our Next list. Thankfully Id also signed up with Notonthehighstreet.com who have a fabulous gift list service. Ive complained to Next by email, they havent responded. Wont be shopping there again.

Don't Bother

My fiancé and I spent a couple of evenings choosing items using the gift selector (which itself was easy to use). In the end we chose more items than guests knowing that there might be the odd item that would be out of stock and to give our guests an option.

During the run up to the big day we would allow ourselves a peek at the list (just out of curiosity) and noticed that only a few of the items had been bought. We put this down to our friends wanting to leave it nearer the big day and thought nothing more of it.

It wasn't until our wedding day when we received a pile of gift cards that the apologies started rolling in; "Sorry, I tried getting you something off your list but they were out of stock." It was the same story with the majority of our guests. Don't get me wrong, we were grateful for their gifts but what was the point in completing the wish list in the first place.

A couple of days after our wedding we went and checked the list and lo and behold most of the items were still out of stock. Yet when we went into the local home store to purchase a couple of items we were greeted by shelves full of items that we had selected.

There was no communication from Next at any point to inform us of what was happening with our list. I would not recommend their service at all, an absolute disgrace.
