Horrendous Charges Without Doing Their Job

I had purchased a sink from an online retailer that was damaged in transport. The retailer was not willing to refund so I asked coop for a credit card charge back, one of my consumer rights. After more than 2 months they sent a letter stating that they couldn't get in touch with the retailer, so my charge back couldn't be processed.

Recently they charged £12 as I had been £46.81 over my overdraft limit of £500 for 5 days.

Not to forget: they also charge £12 late payment.

Non Sterling transaction fees are high as well.

Cooperative Members Credit Card - Avoid!!!

The cooperative credit card company offer the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a bank.I had an issue where I purchased a Berghaus coat which was supposed to be waterproof but leaked. After getting no joy from the retail I turned to the cooperative for help as I had purchased it on my credit card. They had absolutely no interest in helping and didnt even bother to read the letter that I sent. Avoid this company!

In Line With The General Increased Boe Rates, Co-o

In line with the general increased BOE rates, Co-op bank sent me a letter stating they would be putting up the APR. Not that it became too high as a result (Around 11%), but I decided to send them a letter to try to keep it as low as possible for me as previously this has worked well with Barclaycard and a few others.

They responded with an icy letter that this will under no circumstances be possible, referring me to the credit agreement. I didn't think much of it and just moved on.

Two days later another letter came to my surprise. They informed me that they have decided to slash my credit limit to half. Apparently in their opinion I am over committed and it is their decision from time to time to review the limits. Having had the previous experience, I decided not to complain and just pay off whatever I owed them asap and close the account. Funny that two weeks after the "over committed" letter, SkyCard wrote to me and increased my limit from 1500 pounds to 5000. With roughly 5000 pounds in debt in total and an annual salary of 35k I really don't see exactly where I may be over committed.

The Co-operative Bank Clear Credit Card Offers A V

The Co-operative Bank Clear Credit Card offers a VERY Low APR (9.9%). It is a Visa, so it's very widely accepted. It is sleek Looking.

Can pay the bill online, over the phone or in branch.

Can withdraw cash and issue cheques on it, and do not get charged for doing so - on other cards there is a 2% fee per transaction.

It is a very competitive card. It's a shame more people don't stumble across this gem of a deal.

Whatever the rate, it's still poor

The only credit card that's beneficial is the one that you gives you cash back and that you pay in full each month to avoid any interest payment. I used to have a MasterCard from Morgan Stanley but stopped it on the day they decided to introduce a fee for it.

"Your bank is your enemy" is my view.
