Shocking Customer Service

I held the card for a number of years and the biggest two issues are that

The card gets randomly blocked for no explainable reason or not one that was explained to me anyway and then you have to contact the call centre who ask questions like what is the balance or your next payment date if you get one of the three questions wrong you fail security and your card gets blocked. The only way to unblock it is to go into a branch that is if you can find one as most are now closed.

Take my advice give it a wide berth you don't need the hassle.

Nightmare

I took Nationwide Gold Credit Card abroad. They promised no fees when used in foreign countries.Everything was fine for 9 days.I paid in shops, ticket offices, restaurants, car rental company etc. Then boom-card blocked when I was trying to buy a video game in popular ,widely known game shop.I thought it was something wrong with shop's terminal but later on same day I had very cold shower in restaurant when tried to pay for family and friends dinner.

What a disappointment ! Shame on you Nationwide!

I Got The Nationwide Gold Card, 0% Interest On Bal

I got the Nationwide Gold card, 0% interest on balance transfers for 15 months, with the sole intention to transfer a balance of over £1600 from my American Express Platinum Cashback card. To my tremendous frustration and for an unknown reason, the transfer from that particular credit card would not work. Nowhere did it say that certain cards would not be eligible for balance transfers, otherwise I would have gone for another credit card. The customer service could not help me, they said they sometimes have problems with Amex credit cards. This is completely absurd and unacceptable as I had previously transferred balances from that exact same credit card to a Barclaycard. If they could do it, why can't Nationwide? Absolutely ridiculous - avoid this company at all costs.
