Worst Ever

Where to start!

1. No Apple Pay

2. No App

3. Web based platform very unfriendly to use especially on mobile device

4. Won’t give additional card holder if not at same address

5. Had some pending transactions on my account that were credit card fraud, tried phoning them but was put on hold as the fraud specialist team closes at 8pm

6. Sent them a secure message on their web site which is hard to find and then find I have 2 x £350 fraud transactions from Airbnb posted 2 weeks after

7. As there is no app you don’t log in to check things and keep an eye out .

8 . Customer service is under resourced and can be awfully rude.

9 was given £100 by Virgin for their proactive behaviour to facilitate credit card fraud

DO NOT GET THIS CARD. Go to mbna or a real bank/credit card provider

Misleading Terms And Under Hand Tactics To Charge Penalties!

Virgin seem very nice from the outside, but their money arm is creating a very bad brand image. They offer you interest free credit, but if you go over the limit by 1p or are an hour late paying then not only do they charge you a fee, but the free interest rate disappears and you get hit with massive interest bills

The really misleading part is that they send you a message telling you about the £9 fee, but don't mention that the promotional rate has also gone and that you will be charged £100's of pounds. SURELY THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE FINANCIAL REGULATOR SHOULD PICK UP? I'll be asking them.

Stay Away

Before they even send to me the first statement by letter or by email for my new credit card whlch I paid 4% fee for a year of no interest for a bank transfer HA HA, they send me instead a 9 pounds late payment fee and of course they cancelled the one year no interest deal but kept the 4% fee!!!! I paid immediately to them the full amount and burned there disgusting credit card. STAY AWAY please.

Mbna & Virgin = Bloodsuckers

The Virgin Credit Card probably proves by its existence that there is no God. Have been banking for 20+ years and living for 40+ years. Not only the worst credit card company, but likely the worst company overall that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. An embarrassment to humanity. Hopefully you are not reading all these reviews after you have been raped...

Worst Credit Card Company Award Goes To No Surprise Virgin!!

Absolutely the worst experience ever with a credit card company, the whole set up is geared towards getting you off there headline 0% interest rates.

I started to notice that they would not put up my next required payment online until the very last minute and change the date of this frequently,

there system is not live so any payments you make dont show and when you finally escape there grasp and settle the final balance, they will zero your available to spend almost immediately but the amount you outstanding still shows for days, avoid MBNA/VIRGIN at all costs and it will cost you thats for sure, genuinely feel sorry for any one thats with them transfer your balance asap this company has no morals.

Left High And Dry And Given Peanuts To Say Sorry!

First of all, I am absolutely shocked that of all companies i'd be writing a complaint about Virgin having been told about their services highly and the credit card seeming like a great option when I opened the account. The customer service is a complete joke - I went travelling for 4 months in south america and when i was in santiago, Chile £300 was taken from account wrongfully when I was using an ATM. The machine had died with my card inside after I had selected the amount that I wanted to purchase a new phone. I had to complete the transacvtion so when the machine activated again it popped my card back out but no money. I then successfully completed a second transaction and thought nothing of it until I saw my statements. I owed a whopping £600 and as this wasn't even the credit I was using for my travels I was shocked but at the risk of being cut off AGAIN (as I was when I was in Bolivia for paying a day EARLY) I paid the full amount and contacted Virgin when I returned home. Countless phonecalls back and forth (always me calling them) were made and for 2 months the money was put back in to my account and then taken back when so called 'evidence' was sent from Chile to Virgin who then passed this on to me. The 'evidence' actually stated that the machine had turned to offline after I selected £300 and that there were error code as long as my arm until the next transaction was made in full. How this was missed by Virgin is beyond me and unforgiveable after the countless hours I spent writing, calling and emailing Virgin for more help. They tols me I was not ALLOWED to continue with this as evidence had been given even though it was incorrect. I should also like to mention that amongst this I was given phone numbers for the banks in Chile by Virgin who said they could not contact them for me (awful service) and when I called these numbers to try and stumble through with basic spanish (utter humiliation) I actually was put through to a random man's chilean mobile phone!!! How disgusting that they didn't even have the right information to give me when they told me I must go it alone. I then had to enlist the help of a spanish speaker who I paid to come and translate for me at my home after I MYSELF finally found the correct information online! Three months later, money finally refunded (with no letter or phonecall of explanation nor apology - the money simply arrived in my account) and a loong letter sent to complaints department and the ombudsman contacted, I receive a letter to say that they are sorry that I am unhappy with their service (which is an understatement of the century) and they will credit me £25....................can you hear my laughter? I would have rather they turn around and tell me to go stick my letter - £25 after 3 months of phonecalls, letters, emails, calling chile, having interest added to my account because of the money they kept taking without permission and wrongfully......that was the biggest joke I have ever seen on paper. Anyway long story short - virgin are a complete joke and only want to take your money and leave you high and dry so they can continue to make more money. Needless to say I am not dropping this (even though I was kindly told by Virgin that there would be no more GOOD WILL on their part) and this continues still. I wonder if they'll give me a good will payment of £5 next time? That would be worth all the stress and time wasted at their hands! Shocking company policy & Disgusting service.

Scam On The Virgin Card

After a long serious illness I checked my virgin account online to discover two companies (RewardsNow.com & CreditScore.com) were each taking £19.99 out my account every month. Having never heard of either company I duly complained to Virgin/MBNA, Big mistake, they nicely denied all liability and after many letters and calls I am about to challenge Richard Branson to a duel.

Virgin is by far the worst credit card company i have ever used!paid using faster payment online which is instant...apparently with virgin if you pay after noon it is not processed till the following day!which the dont tell you until you have a £12 late payment fee.So apperently your money is floating in thin air between your account and theirs?!DONT THINK SO.Infuriating!Dont expext a nice helpfull team member when you phone either! On hold for over and hour and get treated with sarcasm and threatning behaviour(Do you want your interest rate to go back up to 18odd%?!£30 interst a month and a sky high interst rate.Absolutly disgusting!Even spoke to the so called manager(after trying to be fobbed off)even more useless than the call enter staff-his responce to my complaint about the lady in questions behaviour on the phone "what do you want me to do about it"Do not give these clowns your buisness....more manners from a five year old and a trained monkey would be a pleasure to deal with after these muppets.

Rubbish Company, Rubbish Service, Stay Away

Got 0% transfer from these clowns, asked me to setup monthly minimum payment which they ended up making an error and sent the payment back to my own bank, called customer services, unhelpful, didn't care what had happened and blaming other departments. They refused to fix the issue and when asked to escalate the issue they said no one was available to take the call and I have to wait 24/48 hrs before anyone will look at the issue and call back, the customer service agent had the cheek to then offer me much much higher interest rate which I said how do you justify again 0% and due to their error, refused to change it back to 0%. Poor service - if you have the option please do not go with this company they will find ways, all they look for is one error and they will go out of their way to make your life difficult, instead of understanding the situation and helping customers. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM VIRGIN CREDIT!!!
