No Online
I have had my cash passport card for just over a year now, have no problem using it to pay for things but cannot use it online for seeing my account or topping up. Have to ring up every time I have to top up and every time I ring they tell me I can do it on line and I tell them every time it says they don't recognize my card number, so they register for me on the phone and still it doesn't work. Gerrard very frustrating.

Dont Waste Your Time And Money With These Clowns
Have had nothing but issues with this lot,
card works when it wants, some areas in even europe i had issues with mine
had a dispute in 2015 as i never recieved the correct money from a cash machine, absolutley abysmal communications when i disputed it, never got any feed back regarding or communications what so ever
travelex then decided to take money out my account which cant go into a negative balance but they put it into a negative balance without even consulting me through any period of time whatsoever only to find when i went abroad and topped up my card i had i had no money as the funds i put in only cleared the negative balance.
I then opened another dispute regarding this giving them over 6 weeks to prepare as i was away working only to once again NOT receive a call that was scheduled so i called them, only to be told the same garbage as before "we will send it to another team to investigate and get back to you" just delaying everything in the hope i forget,
iv already advised over 150 people and counting of my scenario who were going abroad and were going to order a card with this idiots.... all went elsewhere with no issues with different companies so i would advise anyone reading this to do the same,
STAY AWAY FROM THESE LOT PEOPLE - unless you want to spend hours on end fighting for your money to be told rubbish

Daughter Is Stuck Abroad With No Access To Her Money
Frantic phone call from my daughter, she's been on the phone for 2 and a half hours today to Travelex and still she can't access HER money! Now I have a 23yr old daughter without a penny for food or anything stuck abroad. ALL parents beware, do not allow your children to get a cash passport. God knows how we will get out of this situation.

No...
We bought a preloaded card to keep our cash safe in US planning to top it up as we went. We had loads of trouble re-loading it, only to find out you have to do that in your country of origin! Completely pointless. Several frustrating calls to clueless customer service staff (at one point they put me through to a duty staff member in UK who could only help if I had some premier product) we spent about 40 minutes on the phone before deciding we couldn't cope with the hassle so upload the rest of our savings. One month later we've come home and transferred what's left to our account. I just had a call to say that they accidentally credited an extra $500 6 weeks ago and they now want it back. Appalling customer service.
Definitely do not recommend!!

Total Rip Off
Avoid. All ATM machines seem to charge 7% on top of the 2% that travelex charge to load the card. Add the poor rates they exchange at, and I calculate it cost me over 20 euros each time I took out 200 euros, a horrible 10% exchange rate in effect.

Don't Use This Cash Passport
We are uk based and used this for a trip to the usa.
Most purchases (at supermarkets went ok although it's not clear whether it's a debit or credit card), however at a beach restaurant the card came back rejected, ( i used another card to settle the bill).
After many phone calls i found out that the original unauthorised payment request had been rejected but the amount of the rejection was 'locked' in their system for a full 7 days on the card. The card therefore was useless whilst i was in the usa and i have had to wait until i returned to the uk 'sort out' the problem.
In the Uk all rejected transactions are rejected there and then with no 'carry over' for 7 days.
I would not recommend this card to any other uk user. If,there are any problems they are costly and time consuming to resolve.

Don't Bother!
I purchased a US dollar cash passport in France to use in the Bahamas. I made one transaction on the day after we arrived, after which I was unable to top up,the card. I tried to use it two days later and it was refused, even though there was enough credit to pay the bill. Embarrassing.
I tried telephoning and emailing over the course of the next few days and was unable to get a response. So we spent the rest of the nine night holiday with no money! (Or would have had I not had a UK bank debit card). Eventually I emailed the Travelex office where I purchased the card, explained the problem and asked them to at least get the card unblocked.
At the airport on the way home I managed to get some cash out!!
All,this caused me great frustration and upset as well as having to spend money from an account I hadn't planned on using, and incurred charges, phone bills and a waste of 15€ on the card itself.
I sent a registered letter to their complaints department which they received on 28 April and as yet I have not had the courtesy of a reply.

Appalling.
I loaded my card with £500. When I got to France I discovered only €500 had been placed on the card. 45 minutes on the phone to a person who didn't have a clue what he was talking about and most of it on hold while he sought advice. Spent the whole conversation saying it was my error and they were correct. I even emailed my bank statement showing £500 deposit. All I got was to be told to make an official compliant on the website. No effort to fix their error and no interest in any problem. Totally avoid and save being ripped off by them.

Avoid Like The Plague - Worse Than Terrible
My son travelling to Vietnam and Thailand obtained 2 cards and activated the primary one. Unfortunately he lost /had stolen this card he called to report and activate the 2nd card several long calls later the card was activated however on attempting to use the cash machine the card was swallowed. Further long laborious calls were made and another was agreed to be issued however it would take 7 working days to arrive he didn't know where he would be so arranged for it to be sent home in the UK - it duly arrived more than 7 days later it was registered again another long call even prior to speaking with someone and the balance viewed on-line. Attempts to withdraw the money failed and attempts to view the account on-line to transfer/cash out failed to. Now he is still travelling and we his parents are having to fund the trip as it cannot be accessed. Due to the inactivity he will be charged for the privilege of them keeping the money and him having no access till he returns home, he is reluctant to call as he has just received a phone bill for £110 due to having to call previously - he is a student and cannot afford this type of expense. Customer service have been unhelpful to say the least. Travelex are making money left right and centre from things like this. AVOID SO NOT TO BE DISAPPOINTED AND RIPPED OFF!!!

Inactivity Fees
Bought to go to USA. Worked fine. Came to use again 2 years later to find half the balance missing on both mine and hubbys card. Rang and was told inactivity fees had been taken (over £100 between us). DEFINATELY not told about inactivity charges at the time of purchase. I'm very shrewd with money and would not have allowed this to happen. Should have known you don't get something for nothing. Never use again
Q&A
Why are their fees so high when taking money from an Atm?
