Don't Expect A Refund When You Sell Your Car
after being a customer for 16 years (yes 16!) I recently sold my car with 4-5 months of insurance period left on my policy. Naturally you expect that at least 4/12ths of the policy would be paid, but that is not the case. Heritage not only keep the full commission for the sale but can apply a £35 admin fee. It appears therefore that actually I would owe them money!!!!!!!!!! They have not applied the full £35 admin fee "as a gesture of goodwill" but I am told that there will be no refund.
In the past they have been OK (not great but ok) but this situation has really changed my view from 3 star to 1 star.

Thoroughly Untrustworthy Tried To Leave Me With No Insurance
Won't ever use heritage again - disreputable.
Having been waylaid dealing with a family medical emergency i forgot about a direct debit going out to Heritage for my car insurance, the first time i have ever missed a payment. Turns out they don't re-present direct debits!!! they just send a letter giving you 7 days or they will cancel your insurance, oh and plus £25 penalty. Not so upset about the £25 though it is exorbitant but by not presenting again they came close to leaving me uninsured.
Staff utterly snotty - one actually sniggered down the phone at me when i pointed out i only found their letter when i came home to get a change of clothes, then they couldn't find anyone to take payment and said to ring back, and when i explained i was in a rush to get back to hospital and probably wouldn't be home again till after their deadline - she just sniggered down the phone again!
I wonder how many people they have left unknowingly driving without insurance? I could easily have come home and used the car completely unaware they left me driving illegally.
For me insuring with Heritage is not worth the risk - in the 21st Century what can the reason be for such a flawed system? AND such awful customer service?

My enquiries were dealt with in a patient, polite manner. The representative called me back to avoid me staying on hold for any significant time whilst storage details etc. were checked with Chaucer.
A prompt returned call offered me a very competitive quote, leading me to accept and pay outright for my VW Beetle insurance and I will very likely renew my VW Camper insurance with Heritage when due. A particularly good money saving incentive was that only a single purchase of 'legal cover' will be necessary to cover both vehicles. Advice on my 'agreed value' was dealt with well, the recommendation being to increase the value of my vehicles(subject to photographs)was honest and appreciated. Generally a very good experience which there was genuinely nothing that I could complain about. Also, the complimentary 'Sky Tag' made it a know-brainer, having already installed one in my Camper and since been very impressed with the company's service.

Quick and easy to complete details and most of all an excellent price. Documents emailed quickly and within an hour of ringing them vehicle insured and road tax paid. First class and will be recommending you.

Just a quick note as I wanted to sing the salesman's praises (despite him liking American muscle cars).
He has been a delight to work with and has been able to help me through the minefield that is vehicle insurance.
Not only has he been thorough and efficient, he has been able to have a bit of banter which has made any conversation with him fun! (how can insurance be fun?!)
So praise where praise is due as I'm sure that you guys get a fair amount of agro fro us, the general public.

Quick, Cheap & First Class
Just applied for insurance on 1991 Disco 1, modified. The whole thing took minutes and was easy. Got the cover I needed for all the activities I do. Person on other end knew what I needed. Would recommend to anyone with a modified vehicle.
