Renewal Price For My Widowed 98 Year Old Mother In

Renewal price for my widowed 98 year old mother in law £1290 when it should have been £150. She was already paying twice what she should have been. Online quotes and online access to policy not working. Long wait on phone lines. Their adverts say they have 80% renewals from their over 70 customers.

I was with Rias for six years without a claim however I enquired about a flood I had under the house they said I wasn’t covered, I excepted that, I didn’t claim a couple of months later my renewal was due, I got an email to say they are cancelling my policy and I should arrange with someone else for home insurance, I felt this was unfair and disgusted in the way I was treated, they must have had over £1200 of me over the years I was with them. I wouldn’t recommend them there just there to take your money, claim and they will get rid of you,

an absolutely rubbish company that I will never use again inpposible to get hold off average waiting times appox 2 hours there excuse is that hey are busy ,I mean how many people do they employ bu the looks of it abt 2 and they are abt as usefull as awet nappy absolutely pathetic!!! STAY CLEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!

Do Not Answer Your Phone Calls

having put in a claim with rias for water damage thru a leak,i made the claim on line was told that i would be contacted with in 48 hours not so do not answer the phone after 20 mins gose to voice message this is not a very good service for a company like rias.

Avoid this joke, the company is changing prices wherever they want to and if you not agree to pay them is charging you another £60 cancellation fee. Avoid at any cost, don't bother.

Every Year I Get New Household Insurance, Which I

Every year I get new household insurance, which I did after a year with Rias as the price had gone up so much. Little did I know but they automatically renewed anyway without my knowledge (they're very smug at telling you it's in the terms & conditions since my complaint) and they took my money (yes, I should have noticed that) even though insured with someone else. Then for the third year, I moved house and they still automatically renewed at my old address, even though I didn’t live there. I was of course insured with someone else.

After complaining, they write to me at my old address that I haven’t lived there for over a year, stating they will charge me a non-refundable admin fee and may only consider a 50% refund of one of the years, but I also have to get a DUAL INSURANCE QUESTIONAIRE filled out by my previous insurer that have to be stamped with their company stamp – sending copies of my past policy isn’t enough.

These people will do anything to wriggle out of paying back an unwanted premium and seem happy to go to ridiculous lengths of bureaucracy . I’m only glad I didn’t have to make a claim, you can imagine how difficult that would be.

It’s a principle thing now and have got the Ombudsman involved.

Very Very Poor Do Not Even Bother With Them.

Lost a camera lens along with bag and filters plus a two times converter.

All of which was in perfect working order, but because I couldn't provide documents going back ten years they have refused to pay out, even though I have the camera body etc. I would encourage anyone thinking about insurance to ask the question of their insurer "what would you require should I need to claim?)

I have asked them to direct me to the clause that says YOO MUST KEEP ALL RECIPTS & PACKAGING FOREVER.

I await their reply.

I gave them one star because you can't give them less.

Unfairly Treated

I got a brilliant quote from rias insurance all was good on my car insurance until two week ago my payment was late due to the day the money was taken out as I attempted to pay them it was only then that I was told by a member of rias that they had not received a payment from me since December with this in mind it is now march I had no warnings nor letter stating this and totally unaware I had and found this hard to believe I had no cancelation notice prior to this when I attempted to pay for Decembers missed payment I was rudely told I missed for January and march it just got stupid and unreal I agreed to pay as I was shocked because of no warning letters or reminders was then told I now need to pay 300 pounds straight away or get cancelled on Wednesday with me not getting my wages payed to my account until the following Friday I was told they wont allow that time and began the cancellation process after finding cover else where and used the 300 pounds on Friday to find alternative cover got another letter from rias telling me they have extended the time I then phoned rias to complain why was that not said on the Wednesday when I was willing to pay the 300 on Friday they seemed to not recall that mentioned and then proceeded to cancel my policy the manager realized there was a error on there side with no letter sent yet a member of rias told  me they had notified me of this I January which or who is telling the truth I am very disappointed and upset as they have left a red flag against my name of a cancellation unfair on my part as I was trying to cooperate with them I will be taking this further to the ombudsmen to request a recording of the poor service from the rias team the manager would not even speak to me only instruct the colleague to say word for word what to say terrible experience and would never pay monthly again ever.

Taking Money With No Intension Of Paying Out.

My elderly parent in their late 70's have been paying £608/ year to this bunch! In the storm last week debris hit a chimney stack and brought it crashing down.

This should be covered by the insurance.

The very Rude Loss adjuster basically said the home is in poor state of repair. Rubbish! I run my own maintenance business and checked both stacks last year when i put a new roof on. They are quite simply swindlers!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Gouging Pensioners By Charging Over 3 Times The Average Cost

I just found out my 88 year old mother is paying £459.93 per year for home insurance. I only pay Admiral £135.64 for a holiday home of very similar value and property type which is unoccupied for 3 weeks of the month. I called Rias and spoke to a guy in Customer Service who offered no explanations or anything as to why they are taking advantage of a lady who is nearly 90. A quick look on the web reveals that RIAS is bad news I recommend anyone using them and especially if there are elderly family members check the price VERY, VERY, CAREFULLY!!

I am trying to contact Rias to make a claim on my garden insurance I cannot get through on the phone but they give an email address to contact, but I can't get through on that. Is there any way to check I have the right address?

Although it is refreshing to see comments on sales of insurance, what I want to know is how good are they when something happens for example a burst pipe in an upstairs bathroom that delivers 1000 of gallons water into the home? Wrecks the cielings furniture carpets etc. How do they deal with it?

This happened to a friend with very bad follow up by insurers.
