Worried It’s Not A Real Company

I filled out all personal details and I had to send a photo of my phone to prove it’s not damaged. First they rejected the policy as they said my phone had a cover on it, it didn’t! Then they rejected the policy as they said there was damage to my phone, there isnt!!!

I feel like they have my details but are providing excuses on why not to cover me!!

Waste Of Money And Time

I am so frustrated at this point that all I can say is in my opinion this company is a waste of time and money. I have found it impossible to receive the service I paid for.

Never Trust Them

They will do everything in their power they not fix or replace your phone so they don't lose out. And when they do send your phone back they blacklist it which they should not do according to 3 meaning you have to ring up and wait another day to get that sorted out. They can't respond to emails let alone your actual claim form in less than 7 working days. The only way you get a response is by phoning up and wasting your credit. When you phone you are placed on hold for a minimum of 5-10minutes.

My phone was water damaged and it took two weeks for them to accept my claim. Took another week for my phone to be collected and another week for it to be repaired and sent to me. A whole month when their website states it takes a few days. I would have to ring constantly multiple times a day to even get the process to move along faster. I was also lied to on multiple occasions by their so called staff. Their staff are pisstakers put you on hold for nothing, and don't know anything more than the basic stuff you read off the website. I was accused of lying about my phone situation weeks after my claim was accepted -proof of them trying to get out of repairing my phone. I was asked to explain my story over and over multiple times to different members of the "call team" AFTER it was accepted. Was lied to multiple times about when my phone would arrive, about emails I would receive and I didn't even get delivery conformation of my phone arriving because they sent it to me on the cheap. What's even worse is that I was sold this insurance by 3 and that they didn't even send me an email or text saying they've switched insurance companies.

No Customer Service Provided Whatsoever

I have been with Pier Insurance for years and have always found them to be extremely slow at responding and in general quite tough to deal with when I need anything changed or updated on my policy. I recently bought a new device and wanted to update my policy to cover the new device and remove the old one. I Sent four emails providing information such as proof of purchase, imei etc.. no response for two days. Which is quite stressful when you'e just spent €800 on a phone and don't like having it uninsured. Tried to call their number four times and was on hold for 6-10 minutes each call before I hung up out of frustration. Needless to say I cancelled my direct debit and changed insurance companies. Their customer service is non existent and I will happily take my business elsewhere.

Do Not Use This Company!!

Terrible company. I contacted pier after I lost my phone originally, which took them two weeks to reply as they said they did not receive my multiple emails. It then took them another 2 weeks to send me out a phone as they "did not have a phone in stock" which is baffling for an insurance company. There was not even an apology after leaving me phoneless for a month. After all that they sent me out a phone (the wrong colour iPhone also) which stopped receiving phone signal after one week....so I had to Send the phone back and wait another 2 weeks without a phone. After receiving my second phone used it for just over two weeks (I had to charge the battery 3 times a day it because it was so bad) it was dayjavu all over again as the signal failed again. I'm writing this as It aproaches another 2 weeks without a phone with not even a phone call to apologise or a courtesy phone...

Reluctant To Even Rate Them 1 Star!!!

NEVER BUY PIER INSURANCE! I accidentally smashed my phone screen three weeks ago, the phone was still fully functional but because i had insurance I decided to go ahead and make a claim. I left it at work reception on a Tuesday and was told it would be picked up that morning, it wasnt picked up til Thursday afternoon. After 5 days and several angry phonecalls, I was told the part was "out of stock". An iPhone 6 phone screen OUT OF STOCK??? Surely its the most basic thing that should be in stock? On one occasion, not one customer service rep could tell me the whereabouts of my phone because their "emails were down". Over 2 weeks later, I finally got the phone back, when I couldve had it fixed around the corner in a phone shop in an hour for the same price as the policy excess.

All in all, terrible experience and horrendous customer service. It's no wonder they're not affiliated with Three anymore, I have no idea how they conduct business. I have cancelled my policy and am now with Gadget Insurance for half the monthly price.

Never Buy Pier Insurance!

Rude staff, incompetent service and overall unaccomdating and unhelpful.

After my claim was successful with pier insurance when my phone was stolen a couple of weeks ago, I was told I would have my new phone within 3-5 working days. Then I received an email stating my phone was 'out of stock' and will not be in stock for 7 working days, when finally they would deliver it to me within 1-2 days.

So a full two weeks waiting on a phone that I need for work.

Staff replies by email were rude and came across distant and careless.

Terrible service as surely it's their job to ensure they have phones in stock as a phone insurance company!

Waste of money.

I totally agree!! Going through the same thing myself with them. I'm nearly 2 weeks in and they still haven't collected my damaged handset. And when you ring and practically beg to have the process sped up because, in my case, I'm trying to rent out a room in my house and my number is up on daft but my phone isn't working. The couldn't care less!! I actually told them that I desperately needed the rental income to live...ill be cancelling my policy as soon as I have this claim closed.

Disgraceful, Incompetent And Cheap

Pier insurance is a disgraceful service, I have had a policy for nearly a year and have just cancelled it, They are shockingly slow, About 2 months ago my screen fell out of my hand and the screen fractured, sent it off and it took nearly three weeks to come back and they charged me 25 euro, i didn't complain because i wanted my phone back as soon as possible. but then about a week and a half after getting my phone back it was in my pocket with no force put against it and it broke straight across the screen, making the bottom half completely unusable! Enraged i wrote to pier, they told me to send the phone in which i did. They then told me that i was to pay the twenty five euro! i was shocked, the audacity charging me to pay for a broken screen because they used inferior parts! i refused to pay and exchange multiple emails expressing my frustration to be met by a strong armed tactic that further enraged me "Pay the 25 euro charge or we will send you phone back broken". I refused to give in and have received my phone today after what has been about twenty days of emails, it is still broken, i was just on amazon and the parts to fix the screen were fifteen euro.....

Whatever you do, do not get insurance with Pier... their are plenty of other upstanding firms to go to that treat their customers with decency!
