They Only Want Your Money

Do not do business with them. Been with this company for 11 Solid years with a Mortgage Protection Insurance, (Iprotect) which should cover Accident, Sickness, Unemployment from work. Note I said should. Well was made redundant July 2023 and put a claim through. Signed up for Universal Credit as instructed. Provided evidence of Redundancy, Mortgage Statement, Bank Statement etc. All that they asked for. Was going to plan and they requested proof of Residency and then was told will payout. They then decided to move the goal posts because I made an ill informed error and told them I would be out of the country on Holiday. Yes I booked a holiday because I managed to get a job but couldn't start until month later. I deserved a holiday. If i told them I was in a cafe and not an airport , it may have made a difference. There reason for not paying out was, your out of the country and therfore not actively looking for work. Use your common sense, I had a job and decided to take a break. That holiday period they said could not be taken into account. Now, because the.policy pays out up to 30 days, they wouldn't be paying. What a load of nonsense and just typical of this company. They want your money and nothing else. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, you have been warned. If this company replies to this review, believe me, u less your prepared to do the honrable and right thing and payout, don't bother. You have extremely upset a valued customer. I will come down hard on you and make sure others do not suffer like I have. You deserve to liquidate

Excellent Service - A Breath Of Fresh Air!

I took out the Lifestyle insurance to protect me incase of redundancy/sickness etc.

i:protect/Wessex have been amazing throughout the process of claiming. As you would expect you need to make sure that all your paperwork is of a good standard and is organised before submitting it but once this is done payment and response from them is very swift.

It was a very difficult time for myself but the knowledge of having this product somewhat eased the pain for me.

As it happened I only had to claim for around 30 days so I didn't have to rely on this for too long. If I had to though I fully believe the process would have been as easy as the first 30 days.

As I said above a real breath of fresh air in this industry and would not hesitate to recommend this product.

Well Worth It ....

If you are in any doubt that you are just throwing your money away with an insurance then you are with the wrong insurers. I protect helped me enormously when as a lone parent I was suddenly faced with both a critical illness and unemployment due to redundancy. Far from trying to find ways to not pay out as some better known insurers are well known for, the staff ensured that I was covered comprehensively, never failed to make payments and explained the process at each and every stage. It made a difficult situation bearable and I want to thank the team for all their help. They were always professional communicative and above all helpful ...

I:protect , Well Worth It!

I have to say how glad I am that I took out this policy. Although I did have a little trouble at the beginning, probably more through the stress of being made redundant and the associated issues, and never having claimed on an insurance policy before, after a few tries I managed to get through to an operator who was very understanding and listened to the situation that I was in and helped me to sort out what paper work I needed to send off to get the claim started. Once all this was done, all correspondence and payments were prompt, and if anything was missing, a letter was sent back detailing the needed items. My advice is to stick with it, and to be as honest as you can when filling out the forms in detailing your situation. I found them to be flexible in the way things like job searching was carried out. I was trying to build up self employed work, which the job center weren't supportive of, but which thankfully has turned out to be perfect for me. I wouldn't have had the chance to try this avenue without the support of the i:protect policy.

Madness

Have been unemployed for nearly three months and still haven't recieved a penny from IProtrect. They require a copy of JSA 3 form from the Job Centre or written evidence that I have declared my insurance policy. The Job Centre have said they don't do this and as I am not claiming anything more than JSA it should be of no importance to them. One more month without payment and I am at risk of loosing my home. Never use this company again.

I can now confirm that I have received my first payment after the initial delay. I appreciate their swift assistance following the recent communications with the management team. Who, have assured me that they will continue to try to resolve the issue with the Department of Works and Pensions and pay me in full while I remain unemployed. At this point I will re-score the company on their ability to settle the matter and thank those concerned.

This claim was accepted and the first benefit paid within a few days of feedback being posted. We continue to work hard on behalf of the policyholder to resolve the submission of evidence that Department of Work and Pensions offices usually supply as a matter of course. If you contact the person who left the comment you will find this is the case and in addition to detailed telephone conversations with him, we have written to confirm that we anticipate paying in full under the terms policy for as long as he is out of work. We would hope he would re-score and amend his feedback in terms of our ability to recover from the initial delay and understandable frustration that this would have caused.

Good Value For Money

My wife and I both have iprotect policies. I've never had to claim on mine (luckily) but my wife has, and received the pay-outs she was expecting.

We chose them because they were recommended as being good value for money, and although both our premiums have increased over time they're still reasonable.

When my wife claimed for critical illness cover there was a fair amount of form filling required but nothing more than you'd expect to prove that she could claim. There was no quibble from their claims department and payments were reasonably timely.

once you take cover online you will find it very difficult to talk to anyone if you want to make a CLAIM. the line is constantly ENGAGED, when you request a call back you do not get ONE. very very poor service

No one could answer the phones at i:protect for most of the day when this comment was posted solely due to a major power failure affecting the centre of Winchester. The power surge created when the electricity was severed disrupted all telephone systems. It took hours for engineers to restore the full telephone service even when the power was reconnected. For the record I:protect answer 5 percent of calls within 5 seconds and over 90 percent of calls within 20 seconds. The company issued an apology and notice on their website. A blog apology and request was made for the person leaving this anonymous comment to contact i:protect. The company can only repeat the apology and request to the person concerned to get in touch.

The Service I Received When My Husband Was Made Re

The service I received when my husband was made redundant was excellent. This was an extremely difficult time for us and the help we received with our mortgage payments gave us one thing that we didn't need to worry about. Claiming was extremely easy. The evidence required was simple to obtain and the customer service was really helpful. Now that my husband is back in full time employment and our claim has been completed we are pleased to say that I:protect really made this difficult time a lot less stressful. I would recommend them highly and will certainly continue to use them in the future.
