Mobile Phone Cover

I've had this insurance policy since 2016 on this house and probably previously another 15+ years. Today I phoned up to claim on my son's iphone. I've been told as it's not named on the policy I can't get more than £250 and have a £50 excess. I don't really know any brands of mobiles (iphone) that are less than £500.

I wasn't told about listing it when I signed up. The world was a different place 7 years ago and probably didn't cost that much.

Complete Sham. PLUS no-one can help me. No-one wants to talk to me. Different story between Zurich who you make the claim with and PaymentShield. Gone on to comparison websites to look at prices and guess what everything is £20+ per month cheaper. Unbelievable!!!!

Worst Insurance Company

Not sure how many people leave the positive review for this company on paid sites?

Since Friday 16th December 22, I have been trying to contact your emergency helpline to report a water leakage and each time, I couldn’t reach even after waiting around 90 minutes. I have managed to reach the team today on my 6th attempt after waiting for one hour and 52 minutes. Finally, emergency engineer booked for 01st January 2023 between 9.00am to 1.00 pm. (CLAIM REF: 337457). I have absolutely no hope to reach the utterly inefficient customer service again without wasting my time.

It is very unlikely that this leak will keep on going without any damage to the property. By the time it comes round to January, massive damage may have been caused.

Beware, for anyone who wants to choose this company as your home insurer. I do not recommend this company to any

Horrendous And Despicable

We had mortgage insurance for 15 years, I was self employed. Due to the pandemic I lost my earnings for 9 weeks. Payment shield would not pay our mortgage because they said I had not ceased trading. They had no sympathy or understanding whatsoever. Do not give your money to this company, they find any excuse not to fulfill their obligations.

Worst Ever Insurance Company

What a joke, first claim ever in over 17 years of payments. Accidental contents cover. Had a flood in the bathroom and water overflowed into the sink vanity unit and ruined it. Refuse to pay out as the " technical team" deem it to be part of the structure of the building because the sink is plumbed in.The sink is fitted to the wall and the vanity unit is furniture that encloses it. No payment and no more business from us, be better off putting your money in a " emergency account" in your bank. Would be quids in by now and would probably have enough left over for a holiday lol

Worst Automated Answering Service Ever.

After repeatedly being told to press 1 etc and nothing being recognised I spoke to someone that was "just putting me through to claims department". After 20 minutes of waiting they hung up on me without answering. Great way to not ever have to pay out on claims I guess.

Have Been With Paymentshield For Several Years. We

Have been with Paymentshield for several years. We have Labndlord Indurance as well as our own buildings & contents insurance.

Tenant noticed a black liquid coming down the flue & this was reported to Paymentshield. Their assessor stated that it was due to the cawling missing. We had recently had storms where the winds reached 74mph... British Gas who serviced the gas fire & flue state that there is no requirement for a cawling to be fitted to a gas fire & the cause of the liquid was the heavy rains & strong winds. The tenant has 2 young children & now no gas fir fitted. This has been ongoing for 2 weeks. Paymentshield say that this claim is not covered. I have raised a complaint but had no contact from Paymentshield for over a week. They say they have sent a letter but I have not received it. I cannot even get to speak to them as do not have a contact number for the complaints dept.

Do Not Use

Tried to claim after a burglary at my home, we even had CCTV footage of the theft only to be told needs to be forced entry AND violence before we were eligible for a claim -after being with payment shield for several years and being informed I was fully covered - so unless your on the news you wont get paid it seems don't use if you have any sense

Keep Away From Paymentsheid

Contacted this insurance company to put in a claim for damage too my roof caused by wind Doris. Lost a few ridges and tiles, I got a quote a couple of quotes from reputable roof contractors, thinking all was well. They sent out. Their own surveyors and came up with the sum of £208 to fix damage, the scaffolding alone £250.. I got back in touch with insurance and asked them to send out one of their contractors to fix it. Their answer was we don't send contractors out for anything under £500. To add insult too injury received a letter from them saying premium have gone up and will lose 14 years no claim bonus. I rang a couple more company's who laughed and said you will get no one out, they haven't even given you enough to get any type of scaffolding. I now have not pursed the claim and I have had to borrow money from family members to fix this damage. Unbelievable that this company operates, will not get another penny from me, did not choose this company by choice it came when I took out mortgage with my bank. This paymentsheid are legal robbers have hard Woking people, who believe in a time of crisis they will be there to help, unfortunately in my opinion they are just there to take your money then do their best not to pay out. Keep well away. Commication with them terrible, can never answer direct and simple questions always putting you on hold to come up with some rubbish answer. They have failed me and I suspect a vast amount of their customers

Paymentshield

Hello,

We’re very sorry to hear you’ve had a less than positive experience, making a claim on your policy after the recent storms. As your insurance administrator, we want to look into this matter further with your insurer, to see where the process may have fallen down and where we can help to improve things for our customers. Could you please email us, quoting your policy number, so we can investigate?

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
