we had three pet policies with More Than. We moved two of our Lhasa’s insurance to Petplan when Morethan increased premiums. renewal quote £200 pm for two girls aged then 7 and 4 years old. Petplan gave us same policy £75pm for them both.

Unfortunately like other comments our third dog who was only a pup was diagnosed with hip dysplasia his premiums had started at £28pm three years later his renewal quote is £2500.

They are trying to price us out of his policy.

They claim premiums are due to where we live, breed and choice of vet.

Nonsense our other two dogs have same address, same vet and are same breed. Only difference is that they are many years older. One now 10 and other 7, their renewal policy with Petplan cost £100pm covering them both.

Cannot believe this company are allowed to do this to pet owners

Went to vet requiring urgent surgery, vet tried to phone them without success, emailed an urgent t pre agreement request, no reply for 24 hours, By then had to put my dog to sleep, they paid £50 out of £310.

I informed them didn’t need policy any longer as no longer had the much loved family pet, then 2 weeks later receive correspondence enquiring as to why we had cancelled the policy!

Upsetting and inconsiderate, totally money focused and would not recommend at all.

Great if you dont make a claim but if your dog is ill and you claim they put the policy up 100% next year and if you claim next year they put up up another 100%. Avoid them, more loan sharks than insurance company as I was paying them more than paid out to the vet in the end. Went from £25pm to £103 pm in 2 years! Better to bank the money and pay yourself!!

We have used More Than for several years and have claimed for 2 conditions during this time. All claims have been dealt with professionally and with compassion. Each year the premium has risen without in our opinion adequate justification. Last year we paid £77.00 per month for our 15 year old cat. We have not claimed for several years and unfortunately had to claim for hyperthyroid treatment this year. We chose radioactive iodine treatment as a cure to avoid a lifetime of medication and so we claimed £2,800. We thought the premium would rise to £100 per month and were staggered to receive a figure of £172.99 per month. We are clearly being penalised for making a claim and this inflated renewal figure is totally unacceptable. We cannot afford to pay this and so will be shopping around for a cheaper policy elsewhere. I called them today to ask if there is an alternative policy as we would like to stay with them and I was told that as we had made a claim this year this wouldn't be possible. Such a shame!!!

Couldn’t believe insurance cover has gone up from £451 last year to a staggering £642!! I thought £451 was bad enough considering it costs less than that to insure my husband and my two cars, fully comp. Have cancelled policy

Been trying to cancel my pet insurance, as gone up this year by 70% (yes 70%) been on the phone for about seventy minutes, gave up (who wouldn't) found the easiest way to cancel is STOP the Direct Debit. And let them stew in their own juice.

Got premium lifetime cover for my French bulldog puppy in 2015. This turned out to be a good decision as he developed allergies but I felt secure as he had "lifetime" cover. Sadly we have now been priced out of the policy by More Than with premiums doubling each year.

We have decided to change insurer but his allergies will be pre existing and no longer covered. Really dissapointed that More Than are pricing people out of their agreements.

15 months ago My Border Collie had Thyroid Cancer removed successfully Then last year she had to have 3 weeks intensive Radiotherapy then 3 months Chemo during this time we were worried about the high Vet bills we had to submit. We called More Than and always had a wonderful call centre person to chat to and gave us reassurance with our account. I would highly recommend More Than Pet insurance for peace of mind while your pet is very ill there was no problem even with the extra cost of our insurance for to her Cancer treatment.

Do not use this pet insurance ,we have been loyal customers for 8 years and have had one claim 7yrs ago for an X-ray on a leg of which no treatment was needed . This year our policy has gone up by £30 making it around £80 a month , upon enquiring we found they had wrong medical history and did not want to help us sort it out , we must of been paying extra all these years for a problem our dog has not had . If we change insurance now we have been told that all of her legs will not be insured , so to get our dog insured as she should be we are locked into staying with more than , paying for the over priced policy and wondering how much more we will be paying next year .

If you need pet insurance, avoid Morethan like the plague. I had to take Morethem to the financial ombudsman because they would not pay my claim. Morethan did not respect or follow the ombudsman instruction. please note that once your pet has a condition, no other pet insurance company will insure that pre-exiting condition. Morethan, are fully aware of this, as result they will increase your policy to an outrageous price. I would never recommend Morethan to anybody. If there was option for overall rating below poor I would've selected it - Please do not use Morethan
