Complete Untrustworthy

I would give this company zero stars if available,I was dealing with them for months and months and all they kept doing was fobbing me off with excuse after excuse and had NO INTENTION of repaying me.

After several phone calls I kept getting the same referrals " I will pass this on to the relevant department" all to no avail.

I have found that this company are completely untrustworthy and seems all the staff are working from the same playbook.

I am glad that this company has gone down (hopefully).

I eventually got my money back from the bank as I paid originally with card.

The dealings I had with Hampton Rae must have dragged on for a couple of years and I kept all correspondence with them.

Still Trading

The director is still registered with 5 active companies. He has been involved with over 10 companies, most of them dissolved. He has our £500 as well. He should not be allowed to trade. The other director, resigned in 2015. he is currently involved with 3 companies. If anyone needs more info, let me know.

Took £495 of my money. Lesson learnt never pay upfront. Now they have ceased trading what name will they come up with next? How does one get their money back or have I lost it for good?

This outfit will take your money. Pretend to work on your behalf, and in the end come up with nothing. Now they've ceased trading. Well what a surprise. A case should be brought against them.

Total Rip Off

My husband and I both have paid Hampton Rae the deposits, we were contacted on a regular basis certain companies couldn't find all our details so had to fill in more forms. About 6 months ago I contacted Hampton Rae to tell them I just wanted my deposits back, and was told they would be sent out within an 8 week period, since then I have called on numerous occasions and was fobbed off every time, until recently when it's an answer phone message all staff are in training and leave a message, which I have done numerous times to much disgust no reply and no cheques sent.so I think the next step will need to be the ombudsman to see where we go from here.

Yes, I have contacted the financial ombudsman, they have been inundated with calls regarding this company. They suggested I contact my bank whom I paid the deposit through, and they are duty bound under section 75 to refund your cash deposit that you have paid out to be returned to you, will let you know if I'm successful.

Ceased Trading November 2016.

I have recently been advised by the Legal Ombudsman that JAS(Hampton Rae) ceased trading in November 2016. I, like many others had paid them £495.00 in advance of a successful claim, but now it appears that the company has disappeared along with my returnable deposit. Please be aware if you are approached by these companies who require money up front

Hampton Rae Will Take Your Money And Not Assist You

I was called by a rep from Hampton Rae in April 2014. I was advised that 12 weeks was the average time for a successful PPI investigation. I gave the company £500 and was promised that either my claim would be successful and I would get some PPI money (with Hampton Rae taking a perventage - perfectly acceptable)or I would get my £500 back.

I have called innumerable times over the 2 and half years and been fobbed off with vague reasons why I cannot have my money returned, as was the original promise.

When you call the number advertised now it says staff are undergoing staff training. This message has not changed for more than a month and you dannot speak to anyone at the company. It is the only number given.

I feel that I will not get my £500 back.

I would encourage anyone else not to proceed with this company, in view of my experience.

Avoid - Really Bad Performance And Customer Service

Found no PPI claim in 12 months. Has taken another 2 months to get them agree to return my deposit. No after the 28 days they promised, still no refund cheque.

Poor To Date

After getting lots and lots of random calls from all manner of companies offering to claim back PPI - I thought maybe if I get involved with one then the others might leave me alone. Not true, now I get companies checking how my claim with Hampton Rae is going - and I have not told anyone. Took loads of details, advised two in particular claims were very very solid and the usual bullshine about these companies having provisions to makes payments. I think in the end we did 10 Claims starting in April 2015. They took the deposit and were economical with timescales - Tick became tock, tock became tick. The website is very poor with few updates. The initial banker claim went to appeal in 2015 and is still "awaiting appeal" November 2016 - despite this probably being the clearest case with a credit card provider who has received more bad press than most. I kind of think Hampton Rae have given up. The second "cert" is now status CANCELLED, not sure when but again I can say that is was almost certain a now defunct DIY store failed to advise on the purchase of a kitchen - the finance company still exist and have a bad reputation but no cigar or appeal for me. There at 7 still at status PRE-SUBMISSION what ever that means 16 Months on. I did get some good news, the most unlikely claim paid out (my own bank) but after Hampton Rae took their 25% - I was left with slightly less than the deposit I paid.

Had my £495 for 13 months. Complained several times and fobbed off. Now for the last week their customer services(?!!) are closed for training. Worried they are no longer in business. Am going to financial ombudsman to see if they can do anything. Beware

So after paying the initial £495 which I believe is to secure that you get your 25%. Do I get that back if my claim is successful or unsuccessful? I ask this because I can't see this in the small print on their contract?

Is there a charge to do a credit search on my behalf to see if I have a valid claim or do they make a charge even if I do not have a valid claim for PPI refund?
