Hi,

I approached the Mortgage Compensation Scheme after I had received a call with regards to a mis-sold mortgage. The original company that contacted me wanted £299 and 25% of what i was to be refunded which when calculated I thought was way to steep.

I went away and spoke to a host of companies that wanted 25% of any money recovered. i then went on the mortgage compensation scheme website and spoke to an advisor who told me that they would request information and i would have to cover that cost which was approx £38. I made this payment and left them to it.

18 weeks later I got a cheque off my mortgage broker after she agreed that they were not honest when sourcing me a mortgage. I got a cheque of £1800 which was the charge for the mortgage advice at the time and the best thing was I didnt have to give 25% of it away which would have been roughly £420.

i'd thoroughly recommend using this company.
