1. I was not able to be present at the time of the engineers visit so I requested that he call me so i could discuss what he observed. He never did. I contacted the office and was told they would pass the message on. I think for £400 a phone call was not asking too much.

2. The request was to establish whether the crack in the concrete ceiling was material/structural and needed some sort of detailed repair or was superfical and filling was sufficient. This question was not addressed in the report, rather the report speculated on whether there was a leak in the bathroom in the property upstairs, this was not the brief.

All in all I consider it £400 wasted and a very unprofessional service was delivered.

I emailed this company to book a full survey on a property we are buying, had a reply asking that I call office to book. The woman who answered call was most unhelpful

She gave a date (which was about a month ahead) so I asked that she provisionally book and I will call back to confirm to which she replied they only take solid definite bookings so I said I will go elsewhere (no apology from her or attempt to suggest I’d misunderstood)

I then emailed the surveyor again to let him know the person I dealt with didn’t seem bothered or interested in my enquiry - they didn’t even have the courtesy to reply

I recently bought a large commercial property and needed a experienced and honest surveyor to do the survey. I approached Mathew Baker who works Allcott Associates - and asked him to do the survey. He did a outstanding job. From start to finish, I couldn't be more happier. His report was so closely detailed, that I have never come across a report like this before. It was close to 100 pages, detailing every single aspect of the property.

I cannot comment on the company overall but Mathew's report was simply outstanding. If your looking for a experienced professional..then do contact Mathew Baker. I cannot say enough about Mathew's report.

We found the whole experience very satisfactory. Everything was explained very clearly and we thought the service was very professional and thorough.

Waited in for over 2 hrs, and when I contacted the office, the so called "receptionist" said simply "he's not turning up today"

No excuse or reason just not turning up. Complete waste of time so please don't bother with them, you will be very disappointed.

I would like to warn anyone thinking of having a full building survey to read all the small print regarding what is and is not included.I paid a lot of money for the full building survey expecting them to inspect the roof, being an integral part of any building. When damp was reported on a bedroom ceiling I hoped the surveyor would be able to check the roof and tell me where water was entering, I was shocked when no mention of this was included in the report. I contacted Allcotts and was told that the surveyors inspected the roof using binoculars as they cant carry ladders over three metres on their cars. I was then told they would gladly inspect the roof if I hired a ladder!! This has left me dissapointed and rather cross, if I had known I would have opted for the homebuyer survey and saved myself a lot of money

We used Allcott Associates as we are purchasing a property which needs a lot of work. Not only did they complete our report very quickly, they also happily sent us one via email and a fully bound copy in the post.

We found the structural report to be very detailed and easy to follow for novices due to the pictures used. My parents, who have various surveys completed in their lives even commented on how thorough the report was.

We particularly liked the estimated costs at the end, which gave us a really good idea of how much the property would cost to make it habitable. We also found their pricing to be very competitive. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
