I give this firm less than 1 star if I could. This firm, HomeSurv, (small firm) the valuer arrived on time, but hardly spoke, was very cold. Spent a few minutes at the front of the house writing notes, then approx 10 minutes inside. Never asked a single question about improvements we made to the house. We have in fact, spent over £80,000 improving this house, plus masses of effort and time. Not sure if the valuer was RCIS or just the company but could not find the valuer who came to our home on the firm's web site. (he never gave his name).

Annoyingly, the valuation given was only £5k more than a house for sale near us, the same size and style of house, but scruffy, and the people have hardly done anything to it. We additionally, have a double garage and much larger, well stocked, well tended garden and two conservatories. I am sure these things are worth more than £5k, well, I would hope so to a potential buyer. Our house is impeccably decorated, neat and clean throughout, walk in and unpack. Felt very aggrieved as though we had wasted our time, energy and money doing this house up just to get it valued for £5k more. Said to my husband wished we had moved and not bothered to do anything to the house.

I feel this firm's valuations are not trustworthy and we will aim to get a better firm in future to give another valuation. But the deal we are going after is now scuppered, not by the lender, but by us, as we are so angry and upset that we are pulling out of the deal.
