The Worst,

Be warned, these are the worst to deal with. They will take money out of your account and gaslight you that it didnt exist, they can and will block access to your money after office hours and leave the vulnerable in the lurch. They will block your account deliberately so there is no way of contacting them till the next day and if it happens on a weekend god help you. Out and about a good dlstance from home and bad signal or no credit? You are f'd. They can block your card with no way of withdrawing cash. Have a back up with these clowns and check up what the ceo has been upto will tell you all you need to know with them.

I wont ever beg to have my card unblocked, itll be you begging to be released from under my boot. I'll show you my rebel moon if you like.

When they respond they will use the excuse that its a security feature. They will make the card invcompatiible with the google pay, their app will suddenly be unavailable and then their final roll of the dice, an outdated text messaging to verify a payment and as i explained once you have bad signal, no credit you are blocked within minutes. Who regulated these clowns, Mr Magoo?

They flag your review and dont respond when the truth hurts so no one can see. They act like they're above the law.

Worst Bank Ever

3 months of phone calls ,3 months of 2 hour waits , 3 months of " trained " staff telling me each time, they have now fixed the mistakes made by the previous operative who dealt with my call.

Started in August it's now Nov. Awful awful bank to deal with , no call backs ,,no email dept, just a queue on a phone line and inept staff on the end of the line.

Just Awful Experience

I switched to this account on £100 switch offer and merely opening the account turned into a nightmare. Crashed webpages (definitely not my end), admin glitches, poor telephone response only part of the problem. Actually switching the account went smoothly but with this lack of service am seriously reconsidering moving my main banking to Co-op. And now they are trying to wriggle out of paying the £100 switching bonus saying my account wasn't opened in time - despite me having a confirmatory email that it was opened 10 days before the deadline. Also, the offer deadline was on application date, not account opening date anyway. I downloaded the webpage at the time, so I can prove it. I'm really struggling to trust anything they say.

Lost a loved one and the time it takes to close and transfer any funds is shambolic.

Mind you I'm not surprised because I also had the misfortune of once banking with the co-op and online services were down every week!

Avoid at all costs!

Hold Your Money No Cantact

Had some money paid into account and paid 2 payments, then got locked out of my accounts and got not get to anything

Even after answering all security questions and confirming payments were correct they put account under investigation with no contact!!!

Only waiting on phone day after day for hours for customer service to answere

Only to be told the accounts are being investigated and that department do not take calls!?!?!

I have held my accounts for over 15 years

No correspondence no help and holding MY MONEY

Just Awful.

Non existent customer service that is only available on the phone from 8am-6pm. Continually blocking my cards when purchasing online ..then you cannot get in contact to get them unblocked.

They blamed my phone and sim card for problems of their making ! Ridiculous excuses time after time. App and online banking unreliable and often go down with no warning. Have given them enough chances now I am switching to another bank. I would avoid this bank like the plague, just not worth it, shocking.

Discriminatory Bank

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience I had while attempting to open a business account with this bank. I'm a consultant psychiatrist and managing director of a couple of limited companies in the real estate business. I would like to bring to your attention the discriminatory and abusive treatment I received during this process.

Initially, when I approached your bank to open a new Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and requested to open a business account, I was met with high hopes. However, to my dismay, it soon became apparent that your institution harbors a serious discriminative attitude towards individuals. I was asked to provide extensive information regarding my identity proof, address, and tax jurisdiction, which I promptly provided.

To my surprise, the demands did not stop there. I was then asked to provide certified proof of identification, proof of address, and even more information about the property I intended to purchase. Additionally, the bank requested a deposit and solicitor certification. I was baffled by these requests, as my initial intention was simply to open a bank account, not to apply for a mortgage. I found these demands to be discriminatory.

Fortunately, I made the decision not to proceed with the application. I feel compelled to share my negative experience and caution other potential customers against wasting their time with such a community bank. It is crucial for financial institutions to treat all customers fairly and respectfully, without any form of discrimination or abuse.

I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues raised. It is my hope that you will reevaluate your protocols and ensure that all customers are treated equally and with respect, regardless of their background or ethnicity.

Very Dissappointed

The Cooperative Bank has been my go-to for years, but recent experiences have left me disappointed. Their customer service is painfully slow, and I often find myself waiting far too long for assistance. What's more frustrating is that money sent from PayPal doesn't show up in my account immediately, unlike my other banks.

Despite never overdrawing my account and having an excellent credit score, they unexpectedly removed my overdraft facilities without a valid explanation. It's bewildering and feels like a slap in the face for being a loyal customer.

On top of that, I'm hit with fees every time I use my debit card abroad, which adds insult to injury. And their statement system is a mess – they always show money going out first, even if money has come in beforehand. It's unnecessarily confusing.

After enduring these issues for far too long, I've decided to take my business elsewhere, where I hope for better service and transparency.

Worst Experience Of My Life!!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!

Purchasing a new business and have a family wedding coming up, had funds transferred from family in UK to my Co Op bank account, worst mistake ever!!

Without so much as a phone call or explanation they have restricted my account!! ALL MY MONEY LOCKED UP WITH NO ACCESS, NONE OF MY DD PAYMENTS INCL MORTGAGE WERE ALLOWED TO GO OUT!!

11 DAYS LATER STILL NOTHING!! Multiple calls and emails sent, no response to emails and call handlers just simply say they cannot help!!

NO ACCESS TO MY MONEY TO EVEN BUY FOOD and I HAVE A YOUNG DAUGHTER WITH A DISABILITY, CO OP COULD NOT CARE LESS!!!

Talk to Customer Services in respect of your complaint. Inform them you are not happy with said response which they should make in writing. Once received you should contact the Fincial Services Ombudsman and inform them of your compalaint. The Ombudsman will take up your case. Search Banking Ombudsman on the web. Tell your bank that you wish to take the co,mplaint further and they should supply contact details also.
