Cmc Newport. No Go For Me After 6 Years Being Loyal

Valve check service (£100s)+despite me requesting to work on my bike, Manager gave my pride and joy to  mechanic+boasted 30 years experience.

Getting my bike back, it sounded dreadful on start up. Mechanic tried to fob me off saying that's how it sounds but after I kicked off saying hell no! Turns out 30 years experience means blasting the grease off+ not regreasing the butterfly linkage!

After that, when cleaning I found gasket seal rubbed all over the top of the engine+the sealant splurting out the casing. Long story short, Mech did not remove the sealant from previous service, basically blasted sealant all over the head. It was disgusting! I had to kick up a massive stink, speaking to head office+talking to get my bike looked at. It took him a few hours to clean her up.

And there's more! Mech lost one of the side panel bolts off my bike+put a Yamaha star bolt in without telling anyone. Problem is, if I had have needed to get to the battery or fuse box out and about, my Suzuki tool kit doesn't have a star bolt screw driver because my bike is a Suzuki.

I had nothing offered to me for the hassle, didn't get an apology and throughout it all, he made me feel like I was hassle and a nuisance.

I had a lifetime warranty with the bike but personally I no longer trust CMC with my machine, I have no faith that they would honour anything based on how they dealt with the disgraceful service to my bike+the treatment I got.

I don't want to cause issues for good people at CMC but this kind of work+behaviour cannot go unposted.

Product Knowledge

Looking at my next bike, fancy a T100 triumph, two in stock a 2004 and a later model, both advertised at 900cc but the 04 plate is 790cc so should be classed as an 800cc tops while the newer model is an 865cc and advertised as such by other CMC branches. Small point? Not really, if I ordered a tin of yellow paint and got beige I'd be a bit annoyed. Now looking to buy from another branch who seem more knowledgeable about the product. Give an accurate description newport, don't 'big it up' let the bike sell itself.

I Had Not Ever Had Any Dealings With Any Cmc Branc

I had not ever had any dealings with any cmc branch until summer 2018 and I will never use them again after this experience, I went to part ex my old run about for a slightly newer bike to get me to work, I knew I would not get a top price for my part ex but I hoped that I would get a fair price and even pitched the price on the low side, but the young sales man hit me very hard indeed but I agreed as I was eager to get another bike, couldn't sleep that night after agreeing the bad deal but I received a call the next day from another salesman from the same said dealer who apologised for his co workers attitude, apparently the young salesman had been boasting how he had treated me!! I immediately rang the sales manager to complain and got anther £500 more for my part ex, so picked up my new bike 3 days later, the bike immediately appeared to have a problem with the chain and sprockets (at 5500 miles from new!!) so I replaced them but problem still apparent, to cut a long story short after much investigation I found out the front sprocket shaft bearing had collapsed,I ended up getting rid of the bike at significant loss rather than deal with these clowns ever again!! please beware of cmc coleshill.

Good Bikes - Rubbish Customer Service !

CMC have got some things really right - a good selection of used bikes and the latest range of Yamaha road bikes, excellent café, extensive range of clothing and helmets - and real imagination when it comes to attracting people to the dealers. What lets them down massively is the rubbish customer service - something that's common in the motorcycle industry. I bought a bike from them which had the Datatag stickers applied - but they had forgotten to actually install the Datatag equipment ! I tried to get a test ride on an MT-09 - and despite them having 5 (yes - 5 !) on display in the showroom, none were available as demos. On one visit, I had a query about the diagnostic mode on my bike - but despite at least 6 technicians working that day, none of them had 5 minutes to spend to talk to me. I fed back to the general manager about the poor service detailed above - and guess what - no response to that letter either ! My advice - if you have the choice, go elsewhere ! They really don't care once you've signed the finance agreement.

Bike Left Cmc Nottingham Unfit For The Road.

They sold me a bike with 14 yr old tyres. I had a second opinion from cmc coleshill who said they would never have let it out of their showroom with tyres in that condition. After picking the bike up, I noticed the clutch was not operating correctly and was quite dangerous when trying to pull away. Turns out the fluid was black and contaminated.

I had to do an emergency stop after being flashed and waved down, turns out the pannier lid was not closed correctly.

The screen has bolts missing and 2 rubber washers missing, so it vibrates like crazy and makes an awful noise.

A bolt on the sump guard was hanging loose, they did a oil and filter change so must have slipped their minds.

Even if these issues are put right, it in no way makes up for their incompetence.

Do Not Use

At first I was over the moon with my purchase of a supposed crf450r 2015 model however 6 weeks later when it was taken to a proper Honda dealer to be converted to a super moto I was absolutely shocked when they told me it was a 2013 model and that it was £500 overpriced by CMC I was still pleased with the purcshe as was told the bike was in excellent condition for the year as many are not but deicide to phone CMC to make them aware of the situation and was give the line of we never said it was a 2015 model so there is nothing to do with us and if you want to complain put it in writing and put the phone down However it is in writing on my deposit receipt so I am writing all this when you could have asked me to come to you store said sorry for the mistake here's a £50 voucher for our clothing dept but no the response was prove it or F OFF not a response I would have expected from a supposed reputed dealer!!!!!!!!

Full Marks, A Great Experience!

My experience with CMC is with the Newport branch in South Wales, I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

The choice of motorcycles was vast and each one was superbly presented.

It did not take me long to strike a deal and I have returned many times since buying my bike, there is a cracking atmosphere and the catering van outside the shop is very popular with us hungry bikers!

I have no hesitation in recommending this dealership.
