Brilliant Service From Start To Finish

Brilliant service from start to finish.

Considered ordering a Honda Grom (for a bit of fun) and emailed JS Gedge as they were offering a very good price for a new model.

Very timely responses and great information provided. I ordered my bike on Tuesday 19th and it arrived on Thursday 21st. They arranged a courier at reasonable cost.

He took photos of the bike and sent a video of it starting up and running.

Communication was fantastic - so much better than anything I've received in a very long time. Well done to you all. Thanks

Used Triumph Explorer Xc

I bought an Explorer from Gedges back in June. It was a higher than average I leave at 36K miles, though had a full service history set of stamps, mostly from Gedges themselves so felt this was a solid buy.

I've loved the bike and found it a great ride, though problems arose very soon after buying it.

At first their offer to fit my Garmin Sat-Nav was tainted when they incorrectly fitted it, then I had need to return again for a juddering from the front brakes. They took it in, rode it around and concluded there was no issue at all and I just need to get used to adventure tourer motorcycles.

Forward wind a couple of months and I've found the issue to be a combination of a pair of warped brake discs and a broken headstock bearings, all of which were apparently 'serviceable' items so not covered under the warranty offered by the garage.

This is doubly disappointing given that it was Gedges who have serviced the motorcycle consistently for the last few years.

I shall not be giving them my custom again.

Pre-owned Explorer Sale

I'd used Gedge before on a used sale, so should have known better when I bought a Sprint GT from them which had an inherent gear shift issue which they failed to address.

So back I went for another try; they had a high miler Explorer available, but all the dealer service stamps were present (from KS Gedge) so presumed it would be a solid bike.

The experience didn't start well when they reinstalled my Garmin Sat-Nav wrong within days and then when I asked them to check the front brakes - as I'd experienced some shudder and pulsing from them - I was told there wasn't a problem and this was just something I would have to get used to from a Adventure Tourer MC.

Well some second opinions resulted in the diagnosis that the headstock bearings had failed and the front discs were warped, though as this was now outside the 3 month warranted period and 'serviceable items' I had no form of recourse for the £500+ bill I am now left with; interesting that they had completed all the previous servicing and put an MOT on the bike when I bought it which should never have been certified or at least an 'advice' to check the brakes.

Lesson now learnt, not going back to them for anything, not even a T-shirt:-(
