Ritebike Review - Ritebike Problems

I had a poor experience with Ritebike, They have poor communication with both customers and internally which seems to be one of the causes of the bad experience I received - misleading and infrequent communication, none-delivery, false promise of a tank of fuel, long delays and the bike delivered with a terminally dead battery.

I purchased a bike from Ritebike on the 5th June 22 online and payed my deposit by phone straight away. I was told the bike would be ready for collection or delivery in 2 weeks time.

After two weeks I had received no communication, no updates on their customer portal and no updates by phone or email. I tried contacting them over a period of 5 days using all of their contact methods - phone, automated "contact us" pop up, email and customer portal messaging. None of these had a staff member to answer or respond leaving me without any information as to what was happening.

This did make me consider that perhaps they were a sham just taking peoples deposit money as they also hadn't emailed a deposit receipt as I was initially told they would.

After a few days more I eventually received a call saying the bike was not ready and it'd be ready in 4 days time. After 5 days I received another call saying the bike was now ready. Due to the delay I was now unable to collect and opted for delivery (at extra expense). I explained I was away at the weekend and they said they'd get it to me by early Friday afternoon in 3 days time. I took the day off to receive delivery of the bike and when it passed the delivery time I'd been told, I phoned up (via the sales line which is the only one that gets answered) and they told me they would find out and call me back.

I was called back by a sales agent saying he was phoning to arrange a day for delivery. I had to explain that it should have been delivered hours ago and that this was now a string of delays and missed deadlines on their part. He talked over me every time I spoke and reeled off excuses about the portal which weren't really relevant to what had happened. Eventually he said they would deliver the bike with a tank of fuel as an apology and arranged a new delivery date when I was back and able to take delivery.

On the new delivery day, it was delayed again and I got the bike at about 9pm (with a completely empty tank). The Ritebike / We Buy Any Bike delivery driver seemed annoyed and said that it was passed to him last minute to drop off and also that he had had it on charge it all afternoon as the battery was flat when they gave it to him.

In the morning I went to get a Jerry can of petrol, took it home, poured it into the tank and tried to start it. The bike wouldn't turn over. The battery was completely dead, something Ritebike knew but chose not to deal with. I think that because the bike was being delivered, they knew I wouldn't be taking it back so they delivered the bike anyway and offloaded the issue to me. I phoned up again (via the sales line) and they agreed to send me a battery but there was no offer to have it fitted. It arrived a week later, the bike sitting on the drive unusable until then when I changed the battery.

I definitely felt like a second class customer to Rite bike because I was on the end of a phone and ordering online. Delivering with a dead battery to none local customers seems to be a regular corner they cut looking at other reviews. A time saver exercise when they're busy perhaps. They seem to be unable to deliver on the time schedule they set. I'm assuming they're understaffed. This plus poor internal communication has lead to further frustration, disappointment, delay and expense.

The choice of bikes they have is tempting but Ritebike don't deserve your business with this kind of service. I'll definitely be avoiding the superstore type of companies from now on and I encourage you to do so as well.

Never Again

Bought a bike from Ritebike recently which has turned out to be the worst aftersales I have encountered ! Salesman assured me the issues I had mentioned while in the showroom would be sorted six weeks later still not sorted. Actually recieved bike not serviced not even checked over as the faults are now down to me to sort out. I am now at the point of thinking you have my money for the bike job done !! Thanks again for the very unprofessional service shocking.

Will not refund my deposit, I've asked on several occasions only to be lied to by the manager and his team,on one occasion he asked me for my credit card details again so they could complete the refund, two months later and still no refund, now in the hands of my credit card company, are they trying to scare potential customers away? I've advised sll my friends to avoid ritebike and go to a proper dealer

Bad Costumer Service, Bike Need To Be Repaired

Strongly NOT recommend. Same company as "WeBuyAnyBike".

Short story:

Waited three weeks to collect my bike. Very poor costumer service once I paid the deposit. I had to re-service my bike after they did it. I had to buy a new battery. And now they don't want to fix the bike on their warranty.

Whole story:

Everything was going great to the moment I paid the deposit. After that they don't care about the costumer.

After three weeks of ignoring my calls, emails and giving silly excuses bike was finally ready to collect.

When I went there I was informed that the bike was serviced and they were pushing me to make a payment. Bike looked and started good so I paid. They didn't even say goodbye.

Next day at home I noticed that I have to much oil in engine and it had a strange color. So i gave the bike to my mechanic for a proper service.

He said that they filled engine with twice amount of oil (1.5l instead 0.7), foam air filter wasn't oiled, he had to clean the chain and the battery is flat.

I called them regarding these issues and was told that service was done propely and they'll send me a new battery but after I called to ask where the battery is, they told me that I can buy one myself and I'll get a refund after three weeks. Although I still didn't get it.

I fitted new battery and it was dead after a week so I called my mechanic, he told me that something must be draining it.

Ritebike told me that I have 30 days warranty so I called them about my battery issue I was told I still have a manufacturer warranty and my local dealer will fix it. My local dealer told me that my warranty expired in march 2021. I emailed them about it but they keep ignoring me so it looks like I'll have to pay for the repairs myself

Again strongly avoid this company.

Dangerous

Picked up my bike on Sunday Drove 60 miles on the motorway to collect it after being told it was finally ready ( 4 weeks) the trim panel I pointed out on inspection was still not replaced but after them sending me an email while I was there to say they would get it fixed I'm still waiting. So I signed everything and set off on the 60 motorway ride home. Once home I noticed oil under the bike so rang them and got, the manager will ring you back ( still waiting 8 phone calls later but no luck.

Im lucky it was dry weather because I would proberly be Dead as the oil was going on the back tire. Found out its the sump plug won't tighted up and looks like it has no washer but they would of known that when they serviced it and did all these so called checks.

Also on further investigation found that the left side lower fairing was resting on the exhaust down pipes which have melted it ( fire risk)

It has now got to the stage after broken promises that I will be taking legal advice due to the bike being dangerous and life threatening when handed over

Just Purchased A Cbf 600 ,happy Happy Customer.

From the first enquiry by phone to the completed deal I can't recommend them enough. They were professional all the way through keeping me informed at every stage from start to finish. When I viewed the bike I was happy with the condition of the tyres and brake pads without asking they replaced them and repaired a advisory on the MOT and gave the bike a good service.I normally keep my bikes a long time but If I ever change I certainly wouldn't hesitate in buying another from them again.

Avoid

When I first enquired about a GSX1400…

When I first enquired about a GSX1400 they were selling I was told I'd need to put down a £200 deposit to hold the bike as it was in demand.

I explained that my driving licence was being renewed and would take some time as the DVA were busy helping with Covid vaccination booking, but I did have my passport etc.

I was assured that wasn't a problem so I sent numerous copies of documents to lieu of my licence.

I had to keep emailing and ringing as I heard nothing from him.

A couple of weeks later I got a week old email sent to me stating that CB needed my licence.

I did query about the CB request being a week old. We're busy is the reply I got.

Eventually I said 'keep it and told Close Brothers to stick their finance.

Bearing in mind the bike was £5,990 and I was paying a £3,500 deposit it seemed odd to me as I've had previous finance with CB.

Thankfully I've took delivery of an amazing GSX1400 from another English company.

When I looked back on their site and seen the bike I was supposed to be getting from Ritebike dropping by £600 before it disappeared from their website I was happy that I'd missed buying a 'pig in a poke.'

My partner was right in saying I've been lucky to have avoided a bad deal.

My tip is to zoom in on the pictures. . . You might see things like sprayed rear cogs and bolts to make them look good.

Unless you can physically put hands on the bike I'd advice you to go elsewhere.

Aggresive

Terrible company. Bike arrived with numerous faults when started oil poured out the engine case ignition switch broken foot pedal loose causing the rear brake to come on! ran for 5 mins then would not start no compression. only arrived with invoice no other docs history nothing? Rang said not happy wanted refund first sales guy okd that then got the most aggresive person (manager) ever said it was sold as seen!! no warranty on bike (invoice said 30days) etc etc...send it back and we will repair it,BUT at my expense £180 to send back. Then nothing no emails phone calls repeatedly asked wot was going on...weeks later i involved a solicitor and send letters asking for full refund. Manageer rang again i couldnt talk to him said bike was rusty!!!! I have 2 bikes in the garage on a 67 triumph and an older Hog. So how can a bike within a week get rust on it??? had to get an "offical" thats impossible in the middle of summer report from a bike mechanic and send that too. this went on and on .this manager will not agree to his calls being taped WHY NOT??

then lo and behold the bike is up for sale again on thier site! Solicitor said send one more letter saying i was still the legal owner! May involve the police....eventually recived a call saying refund would be in next couple of days. asked that to be put in an email. Did get refund but now fighting to get my warranty money back. After 50 years of biking never come accross anything like this company.
