When I went to Webbs to buy a new bike, they were very keen and enthusiastic. When I went to test ride the bike, it wouldn't start due to a flat battery. No problem, I was told, it will be replaced with a new one.

After I'd taken delivery, I encountered 2 problems. First of all, I noticed there was some brake fluid that had leaked out of a drain hole (it shouldn't have been there in the first place) and this had taken some of the paint off. I emailed Webbs and was told that this would be dealt with in some way when I next brought the bike in. When the time came, it was not sorted or even acknowledged, and I was ignored by the manager, despite me emailing him saying when I would be in.

Second problem was the "new" battery. After leaving the bike standing for just 10 days, it would not start. I rang up and was told that this was normal. I pointed out that I had a supposedly new battery fitted, but I was told that I needed another one. I then asked to speak to the manager (who sold me the bike and said the battery would be replaced)but was told he was busy. I left my number and asked for a call back. I was never called back. After that I decided to stop wasting my time with these people.

To sum up then. When they want to sell you something, Webbs are fine, but they are unhelpful, ignorant and incompetant when something goes wrong.

I would not recommend them or use them again.
