I bought the unlimited package for 30 days for 45 dollars. I was looking for a used car for my girlfriend because her car had recently broken down and her only mode of transportation was me. The problem with this was that I had to leave and since she had bad credit I was going to get the car loan for her and I had to leave on some business within a month.

Since I wanted the best deal and since cheaper cars usually have problems I wanted to make sure we didn't get a defective car. Everything worked adequately until I reached the 50th car it turns out unlimited means a certain amount until we accuse you of being a commercial car dealer. At first I thought fine I will just call and clear things up. They do not take calls, only emails. It took 1 week for them to get back to me and ask me my personal information. The problem still wasn't resolved. Im still currently waiting for them to fix the problem on the third day. I have 2 weeks left and I cannot accurately evaluate the value of the cars that are being listed and good deals could be coming and going. It is very frustrating.

Apart from that we were disappointed in the amount of information available and the type of information given.

I would not recommend auto check.

I purchased this Auto check on e/bay and was unlimited checks for 6/months period.At the end of two months I was canceled and told it was a two month policy.I contacted them with proof of the 6/mth policy with no satisfaction. I wouldn't reccomend them and since e/bay has switched to car/fax.

AutoCheck did not report one accident on the car I bought. Carfax did show that accident. I learned it after I bought the car. AutoCheck customer service never seem to respond to my online compliant, they do not provide a phone number where I can call.

AutoCheck gives a very minimal report, nothing like as comprehensive as HPi check. It only gives you current data and not things that have happened to the car in the past, such as - is the car currently registered as stolen, does it currently have finance outstanding on it. So, if the car has been stolen and recovered, it is no longer registered as stolen and therefore you will not know from their report. HPi does tell you this.

I would avoid and stick with HPi if you're spending any sort of money on the car.

AutoCheck is an unbeatable value for money. As often you will have to check more than one car, a bundle of 5 checks do make sense, particularly at that price. You won't find cheaper and the report has all you need.

I was also impressed that Auto Check give a £30k insurance product and they have a login area to view and print all your checks
