Incorrect Hpi Check

I paid £19.99 for an HPI check on a vehicle I wanted to purchase. The results came back clear of any accident damage so I proceeded to purchase the vehicle.

I went to sell it to “webuyanycar” and they advised me that it was a CAT N write off. When I showed them that I had completed an HPI check they printed me a copy of their report and in fact it was a CAT N.

I contacted HPI to ask for the money that I paid for the car but they refused my request and after an internal appeal they still didn’t accept liability. This has left me out of pocket.

Their negligence and total disregard for their customer has prompted me into writing this negative feedback.

I want anyone who considers purchasing an HPI check to reconsider using this useless company because they will take your money, give you incorrect information and then blame you for purchasing the vehicle.

Avoid at all costs, they should not be trading.

Avoid This At All Costs And Chose A Serious Provid

Avoid this at all costs and chose a serious provider for your data check, such as Experian. I have put in all the correct requested information and HPI check insisted to say that the data did not match. The dealer showed me the information he was providing was correct (V5 registration document issue date) directly through the DVLA online tax check, which then made me sure that everything was OK and that the documents were all legit. I then went ahead and purchased the car. Later I called HPI check to question why was their database not correct and telling me the info I had input was incorrect. They immediately agreed that the information I was providing was indeed correct and updated their system to include the correct information (as their database was incorrect), however, I was informed that my warranty was void as I had purchased before correcting it in their database? Seriously ?My fault ? I have complied to the T&C that states that "to qualify for the guarantee, this information must be supplied before you purchase the vehicle. I have provided the correct information before I purchased the vehicle, but their database kept telling me the info didn't match. It's not my fault their data base is inaccurate and they charge for it! Even though I was able to check the information was correct and matched the document, directly with the DVLA. They (with outdated database) don't care about customer satisfaction and just want to take your money and run. I'm happy I just went for a single check and not the discounted 3 checks option they provide as I will surely never ever be doing any business with such a Dodgy company, ever again. In the end the blame was on me for their outdated database. Customer Service just couldn't care less. The dealer I got the car from used Experian and the information was all updated and correct. Highly recommend all other customers to stay far away from this dodgy company!!

Won't Take Blame

hpi checked a car insurance write off but insurance blamed human error won't pay the loss suffered to the company £15000 out of pocket just says there terms.and conditions means they will refund the cost of the hi absolute joke poor guys left so out of pocket when companies like these are trusted and should fight for the guys who lost so much. Either they or the insurance company who failed to record a total loss should pay these guys back. I wonder how many more there is out there with human error to blame on our roads may be even with unsuspecting mums and kids in.

Hold them accountable.

Simply Rubbish!!!

The HPI check did not pick up that the car I purchased was a grey import from Sweden, I am now in a battle with the garage to get my deposit back!! The HPI check stated it had never been imported and because the garage carried out the check I am not even covered by their guarantee. I only found out because when I phoned for insurance they picked up a problem with the cars year of manufacture. Piece of advice always ring the manufacturer with the cars VIN number to check the car, its free so you mite as well!! Also make sure you carry out the check yourself to get the guarantee!

Dont Buy From Hpi Check If You Need The 7 Day Free Insurance

lIke many others on this review site and other reveiw sites ive since visited I was scamed into paying the £19.99 HPI Check which offers the drive a way 7 day free insurance which I needed to get my motor home. HPI Check put me through to Swinton Insurance I went through all the insurance details only to be told No she could not give a reason other than the computer says no. if you only want an HPI check there are many on the web that do the same for half the price. I Evan emailed HPI check put my case across and got no where they are getting double the cost on the lure of giving you free drive away insurance that your not going to get its a scam

Don't Buy For The Driveaway Insurance

Don't buy this for the Driveaway insurance that they have teamed up with Aviva to provide. Despite seeming to meet the criteria outlined in the advert we found that our vehicle wasn't insurable on this policy. We paid out for the more expensive HPI check for this facility and instead just got a load of hassle and a very long phone call with Aviva (who keep emailing to see if we'd like to take out insurance with them!). Go and get a cheaper car check.

I have the U.K 240v version folks and its ideal when as a plmeubr I have to cut through old timber where there may be old nails or screws unseen under the surface that would just kill my normal saw.Great bit of kit
