Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4 Limited (Auto)

The PT Cruiser is one of those vehicles you admire to look at, but would overlook at any dealership when you opt for a car. The car is actually comfortable inside without being too roomy: four adults can be seated at ease but not more. The front seats are very spacious and the front passengers have a kingdom of their own amongst plenty of gadgets and a dashboard that's very interesting to look at: plenty of wood all around, automatic seat adjustments for driver (in model that I rented), four one touch electric window lifts and electric rear view mirrors, auto defrosting. The vehicle has an interior electrochrome rear view mirror and central locking secured by remote control. Alloy wheels are optional but make a big difference in handling: the vehicle's engine, 2.4, makes you feel like driving a rocket: jumping from 100 to 170 kph is just a matter of applying moderate pressure on the gas. However, beyond 170 kph, you feel the car's zest receding. This model I tested had a cutoff to 190 kph, although the engine certainly can do more ( the cutoff is reached at 4000 rpm ). The steering is very correct in the city although a bit scary in the highways under certain conditions ( too much wind or snow on the road can make driving this car a nightmare, especially with trucks around ). The Dashboard offers a tape player with controls on the dashboard, and a very convenient cruise control which goes off automatically as soon as you apply pressure on the beak or gas pedals ( gently touching the brakes won't have any effect though and the car will cruise on at the set speed, which is handy ). You can also accelerate by slightly touching the gas pedal ( I found this very cool but also very dangerous... ). The boot space is moderate but with the seat modularity and the different arrangements, loading space shouldn't be a problem. ABS is very helpful and electronic stability control make up for the awkward chassis.

Very nice looking car, pleasant interior, perfect for company executives. Fun to drive, without promising anything special other than its 2.4 engine coupled with a very quick automatic transmission.
