I Ran Xantias Two Of Them Oth Diesel For Eleven
i ran xantias two of them oth diesel for eleven years , both used as a taxi , great cars totally impressive , so i bought a phase three c5 BIG MISTAKE, the garage i use in leamington spa , ARBURY motors are great but the car aint.i do my own servicing every ten thousand miles using the best oils and filters because of the job it does, , the car has had a new fuse box , rear suspension reset after three attempts to find noise, new feed pipe for the air con , now the n/s front track rod end needs replacing and the rack is getting signs of wear , MILEAGE 54,000 my xantias would have run rings round this thing , the suspension which is steel not hydraulic which i miss is showing signs of wear far in excess of that which i would expect , i reckon this car is made by peugeot its so weak , doors dont shut with the thud i used to get the seats are weakening on the squab.i am about to change the gearbox oil because i always did at this mileage on the xantia , i am concerned that the diff is getting noisy already ,it also wears front tyres more than i expected on the positive side , the car looks good , the sales staff at warrington citroen were great , the passengers love the seats and the diesel is the best in the worlsd giving me fantastic mileage in and out of town , CITROEN WAKE UP AND GET YOUR QUALITY BACK TO WHAT IT WAS , I WAS A QUALITY CONTROL FOREMAN WITH JAGUAR BEFORE ROBINSON SCREWED IT UP SO I KNOW A GOOD CAR WHEN I SEE ONE, ITS NOT A GOOD DEAL AT THE MOMENT ,

The Worst Car I Have Owned In 35 Years! I Own
THE WORST CAR I HAVE OWNED IN 35 YEARS!
I own a 2007 2L turbo diesel that I bought as a demonstrator with 6,000km and so far the faults have been numerous and extremely frustrating:
Faulty rear suspension arms - new ones had to come from France; faulty windscreen washer sensor; faulty tyre sensor; faulty drivers seat (loose bolts); faulty electric windows (2); faulty turbo; faulty top engine mount; faulty drivers seat belt; faulty radio; faulty drivers door pull; perished rear tail gate rubber seal; under engine skirt fell off! Faulty passenger side headlamp washer; and now a faulty gearbox!
All requiring at least 2 visits to the dealership for repairs because there are no parts in the state other than air and oil filters! Yeah, of course they'd keep those! To cap it all off, they charge like wounded bulls for their "service". As unhappy as I was, I still decided to enquire about a trade in when the new C5 came out about 12 months after I bought the thing. Citroen know they are worth only 2 flat rocks and I was offered $20,000 less than I paid when I bought this French jalopie.
Prestige car my backside!
THe only compensation is that it drives well and is really comfortable and economical but without doubt the constant and continuing catalogue of manufacturer faults make it the worst car I have ever owned in over 35 years."

The Citroen C5 2.0 Sx 16v Is An Awful Car, Bought
The Citroen C5 2.0 SX 16V is an awful car, bought it on a saturday, in the garage on the monday, off the road for 3 weeks whilst dealer tried to fix fuel fault, got the car back, back in dealer garage 3 days later with same fault, told them to keep it and give me a refund. Got the refund and never went back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I found this review not helpful because...it's so narrow minded. He has a problem so thinks all C5's are rubbish and advises people to avoid. Pathetic.

This Citreon C5 Car Has Given Me A Lot Of Pleasure
This citreon c5 car has given me a lot of pleasure. It is incredibly light on fuel and has the most wonderful suspension. It has all the features of a Merc or BMW at a fraction of the price. If PSA Peugeot/Citroen could get their act together they would become more popular here in South Africa.
I am considering up-grading to the C5 V6 Elegance Luxury model and would like to hear from owners of the V6.

This Is My Second Citroen C5 And I Am Still Very
This is my second Citroen C5 and I am still very much convinced that it is one of the best cars on the market.
The 1.6 Diesel engine is a magnificent power source, the car doesn't need a bigger engine although the 2.0 and the 2.2 Diesel engines are available.
It is a nice car, super nice suspension, good performances - drove 205 km/h in Germany, lovely design, fuel efficiency is much better than much of the competion, the price - I paid no more than a VW-Golf cost, the dealerships in Belgium are very good and certainly not stingy.
the only down sides are most of the C5 are in dull silver gray and the interior colors are as dull as the outside color.
The wear and tear on the tires is not as good as the rest of the car.
The unavailability of the 1.6 Diesel with the hydractive3 suspension in Belgium is a pity.

Useless Electronics, No Help From Citroen Who Seem
Useless electronics, no help from Citroen who seem to have washed thier hands of the C5. Dodgy trim, door pockets falling out, fabric parting from the door cards. Dealers who also do not know what the faults need to fix them.
Not recommended, unless you enjoy trips to the garage, paying for parts that might be the fix. I'm hiring another car until the Citroen is temporarily fixed.

Fuel Tank Expanded And Snapped Locking Ring And Sm
Fuel tank expanded and snapped locking ring and smashed fuel pump to bits.
Cost to replace this lot is frightening £959. Mis-fires over 4000 rpm been into Citroen 14 times within the last 6 months with faults with the electrics, brakes, steering the car is only 6 years old and got 36000 on the clock only owned it for 7 months and I have spent so much on it that now I might even give up on the thing and scrap it!
Paid 3200 for the car and spent the best part of 2500 on repairs
I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER CITROEN...
