Never Get Focus

It is very poor car, drinking engine oil all the time. I have to top up every 500 miles. I will never ever buy Ford car again.

I Am Very Pleased With This Car. I Previously Own

I am very pleased with this car. I previously owned a focus zetec 1.6 for 10 years which was very reliable but was getting a bit long in the tooth.

The ghia is smoother at higher speeds but I prefer the longer 1st gear on the zetec. The ghia is well equipped and costs less on road tax (lower emmissions) The only big gripe I have is the fuel comsuption, no matter where

I am driving in town or on the motorway the computer always hovers around

30 mpg average. I don't think this is very good!! It has been serviced and nothing is wrong with the engine.

Apart from that it is a very nice car and hopefully it will be as reliable as my old Zetec.

Bought My Ghia From A Dealer In July This Year And

Bought my Ghia from a dealer in July this year and I LOVE it - it's such a comfortable car, almost everyone I've had on board has commented on this too. Have had to replace bushings prior to MOT as they were cracked but other than this, have had no issues whatsoever... hope the problem-free spell continues. Since buying, three of my mates have bought a Focus! So would definately recommend. What a fab car :)

This Is The Wifes Car, Not Mine. I Drive It Only O

This is the wifes car, not mine. I drive it only on occasion, and I find it a good car over all. She's had the car from new (2002) and the only repair has been a steering rack that developed a leak a couple of years back (just out of warrenty, typical!).

The only real critisism I have is boot access. Who the hell designed the opening?! There are 2 panel's that cut the opening appature down either side of the car. Why? I can only presume it's for strength, however a work colleague has the estate version and they are not on his car. Maybe the estate would have been a better bet?

We bought the 1.6, basically as the TDCi had only just been released, and Ford's last diesel offering wasn't exactly successful. However the TDCi turned out to be a great motor, so if we were to buy again, I think the TDCI estate is the way to go.

My Parents Bought A Ford Focus Two Years Ago And M

My parents bought a Ford Focus two years ago and my, is it a good car. The 1.6 litre petrol engine isn't what I'd call truly fast, but it certainly is no slouch either, and it pulls nicely through all gears. Makes a very satisfying growl as well.

Speaking of gears, the fifth one leaves something to be desired. At speeds under 100km/h, everything's fine. But when you hit the highway speed of 120km/h, the rev counter should show around 3000RPM, which isn't catashtrophic but it could sting your fuel consumption. The suspension is on the stiff side, which isn't what you'd hope for in highways, but it's bearable all the way.

However, find yourself a winding road and the Focus becomes so much fun the drive. The smooth engine, great suspension and supporting seats make you forget it's just a family hatchback.

And that on the outside, it looks very much like a car, as it does on the inside. There's back and grey with some metallic trim, and that's just about it. Despite the dull-ish materials, the Focus is a very nice place to be in for both driver and passengers. The audio system is good and there's plenty of space for everyone. Don't be fooled by the steeply arching back, as there's enough headroom for all but your tallest friends in the back. And the curving back doesn't compromise boot space either, because at 385 litres it's one of the biggest in the segment and a good boxy shape as well.

Visibility is mostly good, but the steeply angled and rather thick C pillar make visibility to the rear less than satisfying. The A pillar gets in the way in certain turns, but this is easilly remedied by shifting about.

Overall, I believe that the only car that could give me this much fun without compromising practicality is a hot hatch. Of course, I'm never going to buy a hot hatch because I can't afford buying nor owning one. So I'll have to settle with the Focus, and guess what? That suits me perfectly.

The Ford Focus Holds The Road Nicely, I Used To Ow

The Ford Focus holds the road nicely, I used to own a Ford Puma and the drive just doesnt compare, you drive a car in which you feel safe in, even in poor conditions.

I Am Satisfied With The Purchase Of This Particula

I am satisfied with the purchase of this particular vehicle. Drives really well and does long distances reliably. It's a comfortable car inside. On the downside, however, some parts of the interior wears away quite easily. Sun Visors the plastic hold parts basically fall apart with just taking a little sun. The steering wheel also melts with a little heat from the sun. My seat warmers could work better - it's very weak.
