I Have Had A Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 130 Ghia X 5dr 5
I have had a Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 130 Ghia X 5dr 5-Tronic Family Car for two years and in that time have done 59,000 miles - the car has been reliable as expected although a transmission whine has just started and I have booked it into a Ford Garage for them to look at.
Big negatives for me are the cost of replacing front tyres every 18,000 miles at £180 each and the very noisy engine.
There is no mistaking this is a diesel, its by far the noisiest engine I have ever had and this is my fifth diesel and second Ford Mondeo GhiaX. At less than 2,000 RPM (<30mph) the car sounds like a london taxi and makes heads turn. Its been back to the garage a number of times and they say they are all like that.
If you are looking to buy one of these be sure to have a test drive - I would never buy another one, the noise is so bad.
