Ford Mondeo Zetec s 2,5 v6

THE ENGINE IS GREAT SERVICE REGULAR THIS CAR WONT LET YOU DOWN,I CANT FAULT IT HAD MINE 20,000 MILES AGO.NEVER LET ME DOWN.PUT FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL IN ENGINE,PUT IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS IN.YOU WONT LOOK BACK,BETTER FOR LONG DISTANCES,NOT REALLY AROUND TOWN CAR.I GOT 35 MPG.ON 100 MILE RUN.20 MPG AROUND TOWN.IF YOU CANT AFFORD PETROL THIS IS NOT YOUR CAR.

I have owned an 02 plate V6 for a year now and when I first bought it the first thing I done was put it in for a full service and bought a really good set of spark plugs. The V6 in this engine is amazing compared to other V6 cars i have driven before and it still pulls in 5th at 25mph without a flat spot. I feel the cab is a bit bland, but the car is full of extras and it comes alive at night inside because the dials are nice and bright. The other stong point apart from the engine is the handling and the EBD (braking system) is a very good thing as I realised when the car almost aquaplaned in the wet, but the EBD prevented it and I was amazed. I can't fault this car and it has never let me down once. I also think it's okay on fuel if you don't kick it, but when you do give it a bit of oommpphhhh you can see the fuel evaporate from your tank. What amazes me is how you can pick up a car with 80,000k for little over a grand that looks great, performs well and comes with lots of extras and completely reliable. It's also chain driven and no need to worry about timing belts. Great buy if you get one..

To be fair its not the fastest v6 engine on the market, but it certainly does the job. But, putting the engine aside the extras you get as standerd are really good - a/c, 18" alloy wheels, st body kit, cruise control (usually only 2004/05 upwards), front & rear heated windows and a 460 ltr boot space and mines has full leather interior, the list can go on.

The figures aren't great to be honest.

you should with careful driving get 37mpg but I have been getting 42.1mpg, around town these figures will drop to 28mpg.

0-62 is done in 8.6 finishing on 140mph (atleast).

Over all great family car, and great car for when you want a bit of fun. These engines will take you to the moon and back, leaving there rivals way behind (rivals - vectra sri, laguna dynamic, and even the bmw 325 for value for money).

I own a very rare 3.0 litre zetec s not the most practical car some friends and colleagues would say. but if you like reliability good looks and most of all excellent accelaration and top end speed, This is the car for you if you can find one This model is rarer than a ST 220 and probably a little quicker as i have had it REMAPPED (REG JPO3 AJP)

I bought this car thinking it was a normal mondeo picked it up went for test drive and was looking for a gap in the traffic to get out i saw a gap and vroom i was in it doing over 40 mph when i remembered to change. I thought this is great only went for about 3 mile but wanted this car went back to dealer and sorted it out pn way home i put in £10 thinking it would do to get the 5 mile trip home . pulled out of petrol station into second gear when beep i looked at the pannel and thought not petrol as i had just put some in went back to dealer and said there is something wrong with the gage the sales man took me to the side of car and pionted out it was a v6 and was 2.5l and 24 valve he then showed me the last owners only one it was a unmarked traffic car since new .they had tuned the car up to the max and the performance is just outstanding the 155 mph cap has been taken off so you can see how much fun i have with this car. I have omly had a few problems but this was due to a pot hole doing £1800 worth of repairs but as this car is a beast i let the insurance sort it the top speed was displayed when the rac cam out to start it one morning kids left on interior light i was shocked at the cars top speed when the rac guy pointed this out to me just over 172.mph and he just asked me who done that. i pointed out this was done out of the uk Back to the car massive boot seats 5 in comfort and can do 450 miles in one tank but you need to do 56 mph to get this down side is the tyres 225/40/18 zr costs over £200 each but if you go flat out in them they should hold out so they say so if you want a car with pleny of space power and looks normal then buy a FORD MONDEO ZETCEC S v6 mine has done over 150k now and still growels like new and at 3000 rpm off we go 0-60 5.4 secs at last check top speed over 150 mph and 40 mpg on motorways and 25 mpg driving in town it has over 300 bhp on last check

this car even leaves bigger more powerful cars behind without trying and still does 130mph in third gear not bad for a 8 year old car this is my car you might have one but i have not touched this car or tried to mod it as it is fast enough for a family car

well i have only had my estate a week now, had range rovers and all the performance cars in the past like the cosworth and so on...

as for the zetec s..performance is not like some are suggesting as being exciting to get into? obviously never driven a quick car lol but got to say the engine and drive is very very smooth.its a pleasure to drive! fuel economy not that bad either if driven in a sensible manner, as for being the estate its so practical with a family and good value for money overall with the usual refinements....well worth the money IMHO

I do not see how anybody can describe a ford mondeo with a 2.5litre v6 engine quick even the deisels are quicker

i bought this Ford Mondeo Zetec 2nd hand in sept. 2008 with under 30000 on the clock, it was a finance repo. and had stood a while but needed very little work apart from a new back bush (which appears a common fault) and the washers were blocked. it also needed a new set of tyres on which i got a very good deal.it was fortunate that i bought it at a time everyone was panicing about large engined petrol motors. i am certainly glad i took the pluge it is a great car with terrific performance it certainly makes these boy racers look silly perfomance wise and has a great exhaust note when opened up.

Ford Mondeo Zetec s 2,5 v6 is a great car, performs really well, sounds fantastic. Ireally get excited to drive it. Very comfortable and great handling. It looks so good. Fuel costs are low if you welly it, but dont welly it!! if you drive it nicely at a steady 70 it will do close to 40 mpg. but less than 25 around town. Great stereo sytem, overall I prefer this to my ex company BMW 320i by far.

Try one and love it. Engine noise is brilliant. Response and speed fantastic. I've had mine for 9 months now and still love driving it. As good as any German car.
