I Jumped Into A 2006 3.2 Cdx Vectra Coming F
I jumped into a 2006 3.2 CDX Vectra coming from a Vy Commodore, It was absolute heaven. For $19k with 20k klms I thought it was a bargin and couldnt understand why more people werent buying them. Features galore, great dash and buttons and knobs every where. Excellent climate control. And traction control that was fantastic, take off was sensational, mid range is awesome and the engine sounds great. Massive boot and great mags.
In theory this car is a great package. Looks/Performance/Safety.
Unfortunately it is disgracefully expensive to service.
Front Brakes $800.00 + $80 brake sensor that I they insisted I buy.
General servicing if all good is expected price $200 - $300
Other minor repairs i cant remember.
Probably 6 months after I bought the car( from a dealrship with an "executive" as the previous owner) i had a massive internal problem with the cooling system and some oil cooler. I praised the lord that this fault came under the new car warranty which also persuaded me to buy the car. The repair bill that Holden covered was estimated at $3k-$4k.
I asked my Holden contact whether I should keep the car...his reply:
"I cant say to keep it or sell it, but it will only get more expensive to repair, I think you know what the best decision is."
So my 2006 Vectra 3.2CDX, pleasure to drive, I really do love it, however...a sickening nightmare if something goes wrong.
Pros:
Awesome Car
Fast and powerful and handles well, for a 3.2 medium car.
Heaps of Room and features and airbags.
10.5L consistant fuel consumption
Mid 7's 0-100 - Auto
Cons:
A nightmare if something goes wrong.

Just Got A Call From Holden To Tell Me Our Holden
Just got a call from Holden to tell me our Holden Vectra 3.2 V6 CDX (1999 - Olympic Edition) is going to cost $3500 (for non-genuine parts or $5236 for genuine) to fix. Something to do with the idler thingy majig siezing and then I remember hearing something about the cylinder head........ I kind of tuned out after she told me the price.Just got it out of the shop not even a month ago with the crank shaft sensor and some other sensor that needed to be fixed!! That cost $1200.Time for an upgrade.

Hi
Has anyone with a 2004 3.2V6 CDX Vectra had any engine problems?
We have discovered water in our Oil and white/grey sluggie residue up at the top of the oil filler pipe. Its also fuming when cap removed and motor running!!
Has or do you know of this problem happening to other Vectra owners. The dealer is trying to rectify the problem currently.

I Would Never Buy A Vectra Again Nor Recommend It
I would never buy a Vectra again nor recommend it to any body as I have had so many problems such as amost a loose wishbone and a new steering colum
I agree with most comments on this review. I had a 1997 Vectra, it had most of the traits mentioned here. Worst of all the newer model 2000 with 2500 apparent improvements, my brother got one and guess what... he has had almost the same damned problems!! A word of warning to all those considering buying this crock!!
