A Good Solid Car
The new Honda Civic is a solid car that offers good quality at a competitive price to its rivals the Ford Focus, VW Golf. I recently part exchanged my VW Golf (60 reg) for a 62 plate Honda Civic. The Civic comes with desirable kit including blue tooth, alloy wheels as standard, start rear seats, front and rear electric windows and stop start technology.
The cabin is roomy and interior is good quality.
My favourite gadget has to be the rear magic seats which offer more flexibility than rivals VW Golf and Ford Focus. The Honda should also hold its value well while the Ford Focus is likely to have sharper depreciation. Honda also were offering £1500 discount off the list price at the time I purchased mine and 3 years complimentary servicing.
Although I have not owned the car for long it is fun to drive and is more stylish than the current VW Golf which has conservative styling. Compare with the VW Golf, the Civic has stronger engines where the base model Golf currently has a 1.2 TSI engine which in my experience is weak and not very economical on fuel.
The drive of the Civic is better than the 1.2 TSI Golf, however the Civics’ rear visibility is restricted by the rear spoiler which splits the rear window in two. The controls for the air conditioning and heater are also quite fiddly while driving. Apart from this the Civic ticks all the right boxes for me and as it is a Honda it should prove reliable.
