Whilst There Is No Doubt That This Peugeot 307 2.0
Whilst there is no doubt that this Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi 110 Rapier is a very practical family car there are two strange failings. The first is in the published fuel economy for the diesel engine. Forget any thoughts of doing 54mpg (the published combined figure). Think more of 40mpg. And I drive gently. This is one of the most thirsty diesels I have ever owned (My last Saab 2.2Tid did 41mpg and is a much bigger car). The other failing is tyre wear. The fronts wear at about 15,000 miles. I do about 30k per year (and much motorway work!) so new tyres twice a year. Ouch!

I Have Had My Peugeot 307 2.0 Hdi 110 Rapier Famil
I have had my Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi 110 Rapier Family Car since new (march 03) and apart from a few teething problems, it's been a reliable motor.
Has had only one recall for a voltometer, but has been in for a few different reasons. The worst problems was the gear linkage coming off, and it went through a phase of jumping out of 5th gear. Both problems were sorted under warranty there and then.
The ride is not as good as the 306, but it is a comfortable car to drive on long journeys and the air con as standard is a blessing with the summer sun beating down through the massive windscreen.
My only gripe with the 307 is the fuel economy. The book figure is 54 mpg, but i find it nearer 40 mpg. alot less than it should be, and less than i had out of the 306 D turbo, and that was driven harder!
All in All i'm very pleased with the 307, and would recommend one to anyone after a smooth comfortable ride with space for 5 adults, but don't belive Peugeot's fuel figures!
Ok, i wrote the above review a while back now, and since then have had ALOT of problems. to name a few....
Non starting in the cold, running lumpy, electric windows not working 100%, windscreen leaking, countless fault codes, boot handle failing to open for 1 day and a half.....
I could list a load more, but i haven't the time.
All of these problems have been looked at under warranty, but have failed to be cured. the car is less than 3 years old, and i'm sick of it. My advice is stay away from 307's. in general they are lemons, and the Peugeot customer care is far worse.
