Highly Underestimated Car, Which Means Getting A G
highly underestimated car, which means getting a good second hand is a steal! Never broke down in 5 years I owned it (99 reg. bought in 2005) and is not showign any signs that it will any time soon, excellent mpg, on motorway it flies like Merc or BMW.
Inside - very sleak and comfy, adjustable everything, roomy!
I was going to look for small SUV as family has one new member - tried CR-V - just an uncomfortable truck compared to Bora and Rav4 is SMALLER than Bora on all counts except for height - sitting back in Bora after trying others with a BIG smile on my face!
The only better car than this is Bora diesel - my next car :)

After An Audi A4 And Volvo S40 And A Mercedes C Cl
After an Audi A4 and Volvo S40 and a Mercedes C class I took the 2.0 SE Bora for a test drive. Very comfortable and eerily quiet. Excellent refinement. Bought the 2002 Bora from a VW main agent at a very reasonable price with a years warranty/breakdown cover. A few things need to be addressed like no glove box light! and door lamp not working but these are minimal gripes. With only 30k on the clock coupled with the warranty I had to say YES. Lower insurance group (8) compared to the 1999 Audi A4 (14) and more mpg to boot adds up to a good cruiser. BUY ONE and ENJOY.

The Front Wheel Drive Together With An Almost Squa
The front wheel drive together with an almost square wheel base gives it tremendous handling performance. If you are a good driver its possible to take bends like on one those very large roundabouts at 30mph without under or over steer. Brilliant suspension and shock absorbers give it a luxury ride. Seats and cockpit make it cosy.

I've Had My Vw Bora A Few Years Now And It Must B
I've had my VW Bora a few years now and it must be said having previously driven Peugeot and Vauxhall you notice the difference immediately both with the driveabilty and the solid feel. The cabin is classy and sleek, my particular model having carbon dash effect. The only downside to a Bora is if you plan to trainsport a bike or anything 'mis-shapen' so to speak a saloon makes it impractical. Other than that, can't fault it! Good old Volkswagen!

Our Vw Bora Gearbox Has Just Exploded - Had To Hav
Our VW Bora gearbox has just exploded - had to have new gearbox and clutch at cost of £1400. We bought the car from friends 6 months ago who had ever had any trouble with it. Does anyone know if it is worth us contacting the VW dealership they bought it from even though we bought it in a private sale or are we stuck as we didn't buy it directly from VW?
I have a VM Bora 1600. I purchased this vehicle 3 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with it.
I had the gearbox reconditioned and it is still not working as it should.
If you look for a second hand one you will be lucky to find one, as this seems to be a common fault with this car.
Regarding VW warranty: if your car has been serviced by VW and it is less than 3 years old and under 75000 miles then it should be covered (phone them and ask), they can only say no!

The Volkswagen Bora 1.6 Firstline Is A Brilliant C
The Volkswagen Bora 1.6 Firstline is a brilliant car and very reliable with excellent mpg and a good small family car which any day beats the Ford Focus, especially with the more solid build with thicker steel, which would be a lot safer in a crash. It's a pleasure to have parked on my driveway.

After Owning A 1.8 20v Passat For 4 Years I Wasn't
After owning a 1.8 20v Passat for 4 years I wasn't expecting such a wonderful time with a 1.6 Volkswagen Bora, but it really has been an amazing revelation in every way. Comfort, noise, mpg & luggage space are all better in every way. The 43 mpg avarage is better than my wifes 1.3 Fiesta.

The Vw Bora 1.6 Firstline Is A Very Comfertable Ca
The VW Bora 1.6 Firstline is a very comfertable car, good torque, great handeling, nice to drive, very quiet road noise, loads of room, and a good looking car. Since i bought the Bora almost 8 months ago, i find when im reversing in a wheel lock,, the engine cuts off. This has puzzled me for ages. I know someone else with the same car, and also the same problem. Other than this, its all around a great car, and the best in its class.
Q&A
Why does the Volkswagon 1.6 Bora become hot after driving for 3-4 hours? What could be the problem?
